Nice one Alex, you installed them yet?
Everyone knows it's all about the front speakers,.. but there ain't nothing wrong with pleasing the passengers too, that's why I've got type R coxials in the rear also

They arrived this morning

and boy are they gorgeous! Woven speakers mmmm
Gonna have a bash at fitting them tonight! Though, the sub and HU are still in the other car, so I may switch them across later on if I get time - means wiring the sub in tho :S
Where is the access point for the wiring again?

UPDATE:
Car is back from the mechanic
All is fixed and the clutch feels like its a feather....awesome
Now the work starts. Currently got the drivers door in pieces. Just replaced the window regulator motor, as the gear inside had ran out of grease and deformed, so it wasnt rising properly - took an hour to get the cables back on...frustrating but hey was worth it!
Sunday, I plan to install the sound system (the HU, speakers, sub, and sub wiring). It should be fairly simple, as its all sort of in stages which makes my life a nice bit easier!!
Also need to switch the stubby mirrors on the GT1 to the GTI as it has two large mirrors for some reason - very very strange!?

UPDATE:
Drivers door is at last all back together.
Spent this evening stripping the door loom, cutting out unncessery cabling, then rewiring it to the crossover and new speakers now fitted to the doors.
The tweeter was an absolute bastard to do as its almost twice as big as the factory fit - lots of careful cutting to get it to fit, but i did it in the end (wireclippers and patience

)
Ordered my new amp aswell, as the HU really isnt powerful enough to drive the speakers to their full potential.
Its

The Pioneer GM-6300F 4/3/2 Amplifier
So now I need to install all the amp power from the GT1 ... oh the joy thats my sunday booked out!
Anyway best get to bed - work tomorrow! Plan to get the passenger side rewired tomorrow and maybe start on the backs if daylight lasts long enough!

UPDATE:
Bought the ISO block adapter today, to sort out the issue with the wiring loom behind the radio. Bought one from halfords, then got it 8 quid cheaper in maplins!!
Also got a new interior bulb and wiper blades for the GT1 to sort it out before it goes.
Insurance may be happening before my birthday

fingers crossed!!
Amp is arriving on Monday, so I will get everything installed on Tuesday and Wednesday coming as I have two days off for once.
The window is still all greasy, but im getting some 3in1 Heavy Duty Degreaser tomorrow - i have heard good things so hopefully it will be decent stuff.

Time for an UPDATE:
The car goes into the body shop tomorrow for a full top to bottom respray. Most of tonight has been spent taking the parts that need to come off, off, such as spoiler, handles, mirrors etcetc
The Amp should arrive tomorrow, and it appears I have acquired a rattle in the drivers door, so need to have it apart all over again - oh the joy!
I have a load of photos on my camera, but have lost the cable at the moment, so will get these up asap - its quite a state atm seeing it in pieces!!
Anyhow will post as the respray progresses
