UPDATE:

So the car is getting primered Monday. Im gonna go poke my nose in Tuesday morning to see how its progressing - ill probably fall over when i see its currently grey and not red lol

Ordered the last remaining bits now so all it is now is a case of waiting for the final bits to arrive then fitting them as appropriate.

Got some little chrome/stainless valve caps off ebay for a couple of quid - super cheap for what they are, so theyll smarten up the RX2s a little bit more :) Part of me wants to refurb them so they are all polished and shiny....god knows why!

Anyhow its getting there. Ill post a whole host of pictures the day I pick it up. T minus 5 days now so all engines are go.

Removing the 4gauge wiring and the subwoofer from the GT1 this weekend in preparation for the audio fitting into the GTI. Still got three doors and all the amp/sub wiring to do....oh the joy!

UPDATE:

Sub wiring is now removed. Refitted new 8gauge cable into the GT1 in prep for the new owner so they actually have some sound.

Just have the RCA leads to remove now and the HU, and its all sorted!

So tired now, and ive got a cold :(

UPDATE:

Right well, the GT1 is all ready to be sold now and has acquired, in place of the pioneer this wonderful retro Minidisc playing HU!!

Image

Changed it because as I had all the bottom of the dash out, I dont really want to have to take it all apart again, so I switched it to an old HU i had gathering dust up stairs.

It doesnt work with an iPod, but on the plus it does have a 10 CD changer!!

And now for the biggest update of all. I visited the bodyshop earlier today, and im very very pleased with the result. The shell is getting prepped today for spraying tomorrow, and it should all be finished for friday. I cant wait!!

Anyhow, ill let the pics do the talking - it just looks so red!!

Looking great mate!! fair play to you for getting all that work down and not being tempted to alter the bodywork at all (apart from the splitter).

Keeping it trully OEM, good man 8)
