Never seen a BGT in person. I had to order blind... again. Dealers over here never have the high-end models in stock, only the boring base models that most people want. When I ordered my Mk6 Golf GTI 5 years ago, it was the same story: VW CS told me I would have to go to Paris - a 3 hr drive - if I wanted to see one
The same happens here in Barcelona, the first Blue GT (6C) seen by the salesmen was my unit...and I'm talking about the biggest dealer here. So, don't ask to testdrive one because you are offered a 1.2 TSI or more easily a TDI.

The salesman I talked to actually drove one around as his day to day. Although apparently some directors daughter was borrowing his for a week or something over Christmas when I went to order. Luckily for me they had another one stored in a nearby car park (I use the term loosely), where it was stored amongst a selection of Aston Martins and Jaguars. Not really sure what the link was there.

Still, it was a treat to drive and quiet: I was sold. :)

Glad to hear I'm not the only one, then. My local dealer let me testdrive a 140hp TSI Golf and it was up to me to mentally add 10hp and subtract 100kg to decide whether I would like the BGT. It's a good job that more detailed info is available on forums and with Google images, etc. because the manufacturers' brochures are useless.

Ta dah! Covered in wax and protective film still but it's been PDI'd and registered with my plate. Looks awesome even in the gunk. Can't see the wheels or interior yet as they're still protected. Will post more photos after I've collected it properly next week.

Sorry, but as delivery date gets closer, I need my daily Polo fix more & more

Car looks great, BTW. Looking forward to shots of the sunroof, especially from the interior so I can see how much sun it lets through :)

We went to the dealer yesterday to sign paperwork and after requesting for a brief view of the car, he quite reluctantly took us up onto the roof to see the Polo, explaining that they don't normally like customers to see their cars before collection day because of all the pre-PDI "stickers and body protection coverings".
However, most of that had already been removed.
We were keen to see the car to satisfy ourselves that the colour was Metallic Blue Silk and not Mayan Blue, as on the original order form, the incorrect colour code (noted after referring to the brochure) had been typed in.
I had pointed this out a few days after we ordered and was assured that the car had been ordered in the correct colour but there was always that nagging doubt!
All being well the dealer will confirm tomorrow that we can pick it up on Wednesday, hooray!

Still no more photos, the weather here is more than unpleasant. Slightly worrying leaving a brand new car parked near quite a few slates that have come down overnight :( .

Todays project is to play with tyre pressures - the factory setting is 45 front (which is huge!) but it also suggests a comfort pressure which is lower and says this may impact fuel efficiency. Going to drop towards that and see what that does to the ride.

I must say it's really nice to see everyone finally getting their cars, it's been quite the journey! For those who have already got theirs, how are you all finding the build quality?

As everyone is posting pictures and I've got another week to wait, I've called my dealer and asked him to email me a picture

I went for a 3-door SEL DSG. Plenty of power for me and quite an upgrade from my Suzuki Swift (which actually only had 10hp less).

Originally I planned to get the SE Design but when I found out the only interior trim option was brown and cream, I quickly changed my mind as I genuinely think this ruins the interior and couldn't have looked at it everyday  It actually was more cost effective to get the SEL anyway as the add-ons I wanted are standard, plus as luck would have it, the eventual free LED headlight upgrade which I really wanted an am chuffed about.

Can't wait for Thursday to get mine, it's being detailed by the chap that does my bug on Monday as well. The dealer agreed providing they could put it in their showroom!!!

It's fine by me as I can't pick up until Thursday and it'll be better inside and gleaming next to the GTi's and Passats

Tank You'll have to let me know how good the LED's are compared to the H7's Personally I thought it was a bit to much to pay for them on the SE, got the roof instead!
