What's that about the speaker pop?
I actually had some speaker crackles once, but they didn't last more than a trip, still I found it odd.
Is that what you're talking about? Has anyone went to their dealer about this yet?

Yes mine has been back twice. First time firmware update. Second time a whole new unit fitted. Goes back in next week. .......
In fact if it wasn't for the fact that my car's electrics failed last week and the car wouldn't start I wouldn't be that bothered in taking it back in.
I would rather wait until enough of these dodgy units have been flagged up with vw. Then there may be more chance they'll have a clue what's going on and how to fix it.
Speaker can emit a little pop/crackle and speakers at the front fade in about ten seconds after the rear.

That's interesting thanks - I have only been using folders view lately so maybe I was shutting down whilst in database mode when I was losing position on start up.
I think we are right to be critical of these faults but to be fair they are not impacting me massively. If there were pops and fades occurring randomly it would be very bad but they are confined to the first few seconds of boot up.
My main requirement, apart from decent quality audio, was to be able to have all my music in the car and to be able to display the mp3 text tags and album artwork for each track. The unit does this very well. I have a total of just over 24,500 tracks split across a 128 GB SDXC card and a 64 GB micro USB stick. I shall never play them all but it's nice to have the choice.

Anyone know if the normal radio is updateable to work with iOS devices? Maps would be great.

have you ever plugged a phone/mp3 player into a hi-fi that is already on?
you get like a pop as it is plugged in, it's exactly like that.

The database mode seemed really slow to populate the info. Lost position about 4 times in total from having car new. Once I switched to folder view not done it once

Hmm...
Safe to say I never had that issue, and I run audio tons of different ways. SD card, Spotify via bluetooth, USB drive and AUX port

Anyone else experience issues with the tracker? mine states 'with factory' and the dealer is telling me its already being built?
Roughly how long does the process take from order to hand over in your experiences? placed mine just shy of three weeks ago now

They've obviously ramped up production. Most of us early adopters had to wait months!

Did you get given any form of lead time/date from the garage? even a rough date would be nice but they won't tell me anything all seems a little secretive

It's seems so much faster now. When I ordered mine January 13th I was told it would arrive around April / may. I took delivery around May 1st. I did load it with extras but even so people doing the same now would get it faster than I did.

I ordered mine September 20th, confirmed build week 26th October, in transit on the 30th October, arrived in uk 12th November and picked it up today

, just shy of 9 weeks in total! As for the car I absolutely love it, driving had just became a chore in my 1.2 fiesta, think that's about to change

!
