Just found the link for the Ashley Manifold which will fit the Lupo/Arosa 1.4 16V sport as well as thr 1.6 GTI.
Doesnt actually state if it will fit the Polo though, I dont know if the Lupo & Polo Manifolds are the same???

The ashley manifold is mild steel too so heat wrapping it would be essential in my eyes
Yes there the same, doesn't need altering like the Racelands which is the main advantage.

Your dead rite about the wrap though, the coating on the manifold burns off in 10 mins which is pretty poor, I don't think it will rot though, much thicker construction than the Raceland, which must be a very poor grade of stainless, couple of people on ClubLupo have had them shatter going through puddles. Kam Racing(He's on ClubPolo if not on here) sells a nice 4-1 manifold too, trouble is it's getting on for £800 with a cat, too much IMO, but that is direct fit no mods needed onto a Lupo GTI, (no moving lambda sensors, drilling or extending), guess the cat is different on a Polo.

Typhoon looks quite nice, wouldn't fit a Lupo GTI if you wanted to keep the engine cover on. Was tempted to buy one, couldn't find a pic anywhere. Decided to make my own as I can TIG weld stainless.

Great forum btw.

I got it from an online car badge company, i'll PM you their details when I dig out the invoice.
I bought 2 6N2 badges just to save on P&P which was like $12

Iye mate you have deffo started a trend now lol
Its such a nice piece of kit though and looks far better than most kits.

Let us know how you get on at AMD mate, I know that guy with the 6N GTI got 151bhp and he was running the standard camshafts so you should be able to get something similar Craig.

I just got the dice off ebay mate, I think they are £1.99 so not bad at all.

I already have a Raceland which has been fully prepared for fitment, including the heatwrap & coating but I would be tempted to sell it if I can get a higher quality 4-1 manifold.
Do you know for certain if the Ashley manifold will fit the Polo GTI? has anybody on clublupo or clubpolo got one of these fitted to a 6N2 GTI?

Your right about the raceland, I must be a very poor grade of stainless steel for it to be so cheap, most manifolds in stainless are around the £350-400 mark compared to the raceland which is just £160.
I have seen the Kam Racing manifold which boasts very impressive performance figures even with a sports cat but they dont even know if it would fit the Polo which is a shame, plus the £800 price tag is far too much as you mentioned.

All I know is the engines are the same on both cars minus the bell housing patern, so it will bolt on, It would be just knowing if there was a subframe to avoid on the Polo, I don't think there is if the Raceland bolts onto a polo GTI after some bending or extending.

Speaking to a guy who's knows a lot more than me about Lupo's and Polo's(Guy called Dogwood).... He said a 4-2-1 would be better, thats what he's planning for his Lupo GTI, and thats what he has on his awesome polo hill climb car.

I don’t really see how 4-2-1 would be better in all honesty, surely a 4-1 manifold would be more free flowing & less restrictive?
The raceland performance figures are terrible in fairness with most people only recording gains of 1-2bhp maximum when realistically a good manifold should produce a gain of between 8-15bhp.

It’s probably down to the fact that the standard Manifolds on the Polo & Lupo's are good quality anyway.

The Kam racing manifold produced a 10bhp gain on the Lupo GTI with a sports CAT which I thought was very impressive and that was a 4-1.

Hopefully longer than the last set :P its my BBS chrome caps that I cherish the most

It should be transformed this year if all goes to plan, I cant wait to get cracking to be honest its just a case of getting everything in place now. The cams will be the big news but i'm hoping to get my paint sorted out too because its badly letting it down at the moment and in all honesty would benefit from a full respray. Its mint in patches but the bonnet, roof, front bumper, both front wings, tailgate and passenger side door all look untidy so i'm shopping around a few body shops at the moment trying to be quoted happy for a full spray job. I dont think the previous owner took much care of washing the car and the paint has suffered because of it.

If all goes well with the cams & re-map hopefully it might persuade a few other people to get it done.

I hope to be able to post a few more updates soon :)
