Wow, a post from you that doesn't reference former cars and experiencing no problems with them.
I'm not after sympathy, precious. In fact, after being on here for a few months, I've realised that I'm not going to take anything away really. In the main, it's a group of sycophantic kids sucking each other off.
Well biff+, allow me to drop my pants and you can start sucking because guess what you flog, you just posted a comment that, under your own contradictory beliefs constitutes that you too should be sucking everyone off! Yeah, the DSG is one issue but if the goddamn car can't run, then what good is a gearbox?!
Mods, feel free to delete but at least let the other have a giggle first

You have just proved that I was right.

Update: had a call from my dealer today and there is an issue with the ring/scraper kits supplied for the job. The pistons in my engine have two rings and one scraper, the kit provided only has two rings. My dealer ordered a second set and this only had two rings. My dealer has contacted VW technical for a solution but the ring kits have been withdrawn now so I will have to wait and see with no current date for the completion of the work. A right c*ck-up, good job VW UK!

One of those kids that build on a form of 'educated sarcasm' in order to gain as you would say social acquaintances but as you slowly realise that infact you are not clever and people don't like you because your what people in the modern age refer to as a 'dick' you resort to what looks like a poor form of Russell Brand style insults probably stemming from years of daddy issue build up
My advice for you is to congregate with the other club polo dicks and just be dicks together !.

That's not good news..what a f*** up. If that happens to me I'm going to reject the engine. I'm not paying nearly 20 grand for a car just to sit at the dealer's indefinitely.

Quite the rant. But while it probably sounded good in your head, in the cold hard light of the Internet, it reads like incoherent bibble. Stop spending money on cars and buy a comma or two.

Will be contacting VW customer care to take it up with them and I now want to reject the car.

Bad news Edi30, you must be furious. My car goes in for the oil weigh in a weeks time. As far as I know, my dealer is holding the ring/scraper kit which they ordered back in July. I am not certain though, and if the kit has now been withdrawn (presumably because it does not fix the issue), I will be in the same situation.
I am not happy either, I am not even sure a new engine would appease me due to the disruption to the car, ie exhaust manifold, sensors, hoses, wires, cables etc. Also the fact it could well be a mark against when it comes to resale.

This is bad for VW service! I would definitely be complaining.
I got the scrappers done in June, 2500 miles later and still no problems. Better keep my fingers crossed.

Well - my car goes in tomorrow for another oil assessment. I have done 658 miles from when it was brimmed up by the dealer and the dipstick measurement is halfway down.
Will see what they say next week.

Hope for your sake that it doesn't need new rings but there doesn't appear to be any other option except a new engine.

If the oil light has not come on then you have enough oil.
