T73b/
18 can powertrain low = T20a/6
19 can powertrain high = T20a/16
20 can convenience high
21 can convenience low
22 can diag low = T20a/9 = T16b/14
23 can diag high = T20a/19 = T16b/6
24 LIN to G578, G213, J245, A209 = T20a/12
54 Can dash high = T20a/8
57 Can dash low = T20a/18

If you can communicate to the BCM, i'd say you'd also have to be able to communicate with devices on the CAN convenience line, these wirings should be there in your BCM 088D

In the Polo 6R, the gateway is T20a
The diagnistic interface is T16b

Ok steady progress at last........! Thanks again for your pin outs.

With the CAN gateway disconnected and wires run direct to the BCM, the CANBUS is back up and able to view each module, apart from the stereo, which I believe occupies

J553
T20B/10 - Can Low
T20B/20 - Can High

Do you know where these would have to be connected to on the BCM?

Thanks

Thanks for the info, I have linked up the stereo canbus wires with the convenience canbus in the BCM, and voila, the stereo is now recognised and works, so those wires were required it turns out. With the canbus disconnected, the stereo does not switch on with the ignition and asks for the radio code ☺️

Adam87 wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2020 11:55 am If it helps the left headlight is part of the bumper loom, when I retrofitted xenon headlights I replaced the bumper loom (I was also adding from PDC which is part of that loom) then you will only need to run the extra wires to the coupling point behind the right headlight and also gives you a new plug for the left headlight
Thanks for this Adam87 :D . This is the route I am going down now. Due to the current global situation some things are understandably taking longer for delivery etc. But I now have a new bumper loom and a load of other parts delivered from Germany. Still need to get Terminals/contacts and cables for new parts of wiring loom.

I suppose the old wiring loom from the bumper could come in handy for "parts".

This is taking me an age to get done as I need the van for work pretty much 24hrs a day, (firefighter) it was not possible to have it out of use for 2-3 days or so while I carried this out and also juggled child care and school transport etc.
But now the schools are off and my other half is working from home, I now have the use of her VW UP to get me to work.
Hope to get stuck into it soon.

Could I just ask a quick question?

I have installed factory xenon headlights to my T5, and coded the van to allow them to “work” for the moment. I have replaced the original headlight T10 connectors with T14 and transferred the pins for a seamless install (I didn’t want to use a harness)

Now, the van already has a 10 pin connector from factory for the light switch.

How much does the retrofit wiring differ from the 17 pin connector looms that you guys have made?

Cheers!

If there is still anybody monitoring this thread, I need to find a way to code the DRL’s to dim whilst the sidelights and headlights are on. I have wired them up to the specified schematics on this thread, and work correctly apart from dim.

Any help will be appreciated!

I have changed the coding over byte 23 bit 5 and this has no effect on the function of the DRL’s.

Is there a way to adjust the PWM voltage whilst the sidelights / headlights are on as per OEM?
