Cheers. I'm wondering if everyone's car is being built a week before the confirmed build week.

My build week was 04/03/2019 but my dealer said my car was released to the ship on the 3rd of March. Must have been built a week before.
Based on past experience and the experience of other forum members, the VW tracker almost always gets the confirmed build week wrong and quotes the build week a week later than the actual build week.

Well as far as I know I can blow that theory out of the water. Mine supposed to be built this coming week and hasn't been built any earlier.
This really has been a son of a b***h order.

I think you'll get a tracker update next Thursday John saying 'In Transit'.

Like SRGTD said, the tracker seems behind. More than likely your car has been built by now.

Hi again. My Polo was delivered to local VW dealership on Thursday, collected it yesterday morning. Worth. The. Wait. Included are links to pics of my GTI: :D

The red dashboard looks absolutely stunning. It is more subtle than on the VW site, blends in with the interior very well, without being too much in your face.

Hi All,

Im sure this will have been covered in a previous post but wandering if anyone who followed previous progress of their VW on the water had any idea of turn around from Emden to the UK?

It was hard enough getting details for the South Africa - Emden leg so doubt I will get any joy with the next part of the journey.

I know im just being impatient but its so close now........

It generally sits at Emden for a few days (Potentially up to a week though). Once on a ship, Emden to Sheerness, Grimsby or Tyne takes under 24 hours. Potentially stuck in customs for release 24-72 hours and then the dealership requests delivery. Depending on how busy the dealership is (or isn't right now), they can have your PDI done in a day or take as long as a week.

Car arrived in Emden - should be in your hands in less than 2 weeks.

Thanks Monkey - wasnt sure if they did anything with it at Emden or if it was just necessary to tranship it there.

Just trying to gauge when im likley to take receipt and see if I can engineer signing for the car in line with my current PCP.

Sometimes air circulates if there is a significant difference in temperature between outside and inside if the vents are left open which sets it off but only heard this happening in the summer. Could try turning off the internal sensor to see if it continues to happen?

A burst of extremely heavy rain set my alarm off a few weeks ago - first and only time I have heard it. My Golf R sat next to it was fine - not a murmur from the alarm.

Well the Glovis Sunlight wasn't in PE to pick up our cars, she headed off to Durban now. There is a transporter that seems to be anchored in the bay outside of PE (the Delphinus Leader) who is meant to be docking at PE, fingers crossed she's going to pick them up!
