Took his for a spin and I felt really bad for him as for the sake of few hundred pounds his car just isn't anywhere near as good as mine or sound as good as mine.
A bit of sibling rivalry perhaps? What's interesting for me is that the sport button wasn't described as a comfort to normal mode and I was swayed by the Car mag review which didn't recommend it so I added other options. If it offered more horse power or quicker 0 to 60 times I would have jumped at the chance to spec it but it doesn't and the engine noise is artificial which put me off a bit. At the end of the day it's down to personal choice and I can see that having an option for comfort is appealing but I don't believe there is such a big difference. If there was it would have cost much more than £250 as an extra. Just a shame that VW didn't provide proper info at the time and a clear comparison between the standard car and sport mode.
Interesting to hear how Scott Bounce got on.

So picked the car up and left the dealers around 7pm tonight. First impressions are it's certainly a good looking car, the finishing's are certainly of a higher quality than my ST but there's just something about the interior that doesn't give you that "locked in" feel almost. It may just be the way the Recaros hug you in the Fiesta but once you sit in it you almost feel part of the car, the Polo doesn't quite have that feel.
I opted not to get the sports button, the fake noise is a gimmick and seeing as there's no performance improvement I didn't think it was worth it. The suspension is certainly no where near as rough and bumpy as on the Fiesta.
I've only done 30 miles in the car so it's hard to give a proper opinion on the car. I do however really like it so far, I'll put a few more miles on her before I drive her hard and see what she's like compared to my old baby.

Does anyone else fancy a meet up to show off our Polo GTIs on a club stand at GTI International next July?
If so, then take a look in this thread:
http://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=67577
If you're up for it then reply in that thread, not this one please!
Would be nice to meet up with some fellow 6C GTI owners!
Cheers,
Wolfi

Good to hear your early views as I was starting to think about the ST as an alternative. Enjoyed your previous reference to Ron Jeremy!

There's no rivalry between me and my brother lol I'm honestly gutted for him and it's only the noise that he wish he had on his, you can hear it from outside the car as well as inside ... Sounds like an absolute beast in sports mode.
If anyone is going to meet up together please have a go in a sports button equipped one, or if you're worried about regretting not having the button I suggest you don't lol

Could be worse my brother picked up a 1l Polo 2 days before I got the GTI - think he's gonna be gutted when I see him next week!

The condensation I'm getting is ridiculous, it's like it sits in the vents and when you turn the heater on or breath- BAM can't see

Think I read somewhere that closing the vents when it's parked can help with condensation, might be worth a try?

Has any one with an iPhone got the Car Play displaying text messages instead of reading them out?

Do the mirrors open and close on unlock/lock? (assuming you've gone for electric folding mirrors)
Never got the chance to testdrive or even look at one in real life but still put the order through and was wondering just now if that happened when locking or unlocking the car
