I'm on 2400 now and have fitted a DTUK box this week - it flies.
Is the DTUK box any good mate??
Very early stages, I've only done 100 miles or so with it but it feels like it's made a difference. I've tried the 3 main settings and have settled with it on the first one - boost kicks in at around 3k which makes 3rd and 4th gears in particular feel ridiculously quick - was driving home yesterday and my girlfriend said "bloody hell that made my tummy go funny" when I accelerated - so if she's noticing it then it can't be bad!

If I was going to race it or take it on a track day then I'd put the boost on the third setting, where it kicks in at around 5k, that felt insane - just felt it was a bit pointless in the day-to-day driving unfortunate.
Do you think it's worth a buy over a map? I don't know weather to get it mapped or not due to warranty

I don't know sorry mate - never had a car mapped. I went with the box due to the warranty situation.

apr will be releasing details about a map in January but it's likely the car will make 250 bhp and 400nm

Had my first proper play with another car since getting the GTI, in July.

It was a 2003 Civic Type R. Couldn't touch me and I kept pulling away in 3rd. He gave up on the next roundabout.

Was good fun :)

I had a play with a mk5 r32 about two days ago I couldn't bleave it when I was pulling away from him. It really is a fast little car when you give it a go. Read somewhere on here that top gear had it do a 0-60 in 6.2 seconds

With the DTUK box aren't VW able to download the vehicle data/history to see increases in fuel pressure, when turbo has boosted at which may lead them to believe some kind of map has taken place prior to the car coming in even though everything whilst they are currently testing is true to manufacturers spec?

E.g blown turbo, run diagnostics which includes downloading vehicle data and see that turbo has been boosting at different levels, fuel pressure has been different therefore invalidating any warranty claim?

Just playing devil's advocate, as to whether any change electronically can really go undetected?

The dtuk box works after the ecu so doesn't cause a td1 to be flagged. It's easy enough to install and uninstall yourself too! I have been looking at reviews and everyone seems to be happy with them! I think I'm going to try one gives me some safe mind over a remap

Also jamie.lockey followed

If anyone is interested in us forming a club display of our Polo GTIs at GTI International this year, then take a look at this thread:

The more the merrier!

Any questions just ask,

I'd like to think that VW will roll out a genuine fix for the noise coming from the seatbelt top mounting area, personally I'd rather keep away from my dealer.

What inter cooler have you got? The only one I've seen at the moment is the forge motorsport one which would be OK to start with
