Do you think it's worth a buy over a map? I'm on 2400 now and have fitted a DTUK box this week - it flies.
If I was going to race it or take it on a track day then I'd put the boost on the third setting, where it kicks in at around 5k, that felt insane - just felt it was a bit pointless in the day-to-day driving unfortunate.

I had a play with a mk5 r32 about two days ago I couldn't bleave it when I was pulling away from him. It really is a fast little car when you give it a go. With the DTUK box aren't VW able to download the vehicle data/history to see increases in fuel pressure, when turbo has boosted at which may lead them to believe some kind of map has taken place prior to the car coming in even though everything whilst they are currently testing is true to manufacturers spec?jacksb7 wrote:I don't know sorry mate - never had a car mapped. The dtuk box works after the ecu so doesn't cause a td1 to be flagged. It's easy enough to install and uninstall yourself too! I have been looking at reviews and everyone seems to be happy with them! E.g blown turbo, run diagnostics which includes downloading vehicle data and see that turbo has been boosting at different levels, fuel pressure has been different therefore invalidating any warranty claim?
Just playing devil's advocate, as to whether any change electronically can really go undetected?
