Please be carefull...I'm not going to remove the CAT..

That would be illegal and HIGHLY inresponsible....Not something i want to follow for an extra 5 HP

Instead..I WILL remove the precat (the piece of exhaust between the manifold and CAT) which seems to be fairly restrictive in the AVY engines due to the early Euro 4 specs.

I have been quoted around 80 Euros for removal and replacement, which i find quite cheap and should boost my camshafts a little.I don't expect a "check engine" cause the λ sensor will go right where its supposed to, and the adaptation values reset.

Dunno when i will have the time though...

Oh and BTW...Other exhaust tweaks i sugest for this car are

1)Manifold wrapping

2)Mid silencer replacement

3)200 cell metal catalyst

That should be sufficient i guess (dunno if diameter increase ir required..on stock anyways)

Cheers

P.S.I happened to find my "old" Denso Iridium plugs that i diched almost brand new cause i felt they where giving me misfires....Having gone a long way down the tuning road, im gonna slap thise babies in this weekend just to see how they feel now....Will let you ppl know....

I'm going to get the first and second cats removed cause i want more power. I have a straight through pipe for a mid silencer on my Gti.

Well i already said removing the 1st CAT isnt that harmfull...

Removing the 2nd CAT though IS ANOTHER THING...

Just remember the car uses a wideband lamda sensor at the 2nd CAT and removing it wide DEFINATELY screw up the values received by the ECU.And keeping in mind this IS an e-gas vehicle, my forecast is you will probably LOSE more then you will gain....Not forgeting the "check engine light" you will probably get.....

I would hate to be right....
