hey.... maybe we could get the G and GTi their own feature new vs old stand-off... battle of the insider secret hot hatches... have the stig hurl them round the track and get times (and then see how the car's owners stack up, see if knowing all the nuances of the vehicle can have any advantage against someone who knows the track blindfold but maybe not the car)... perhaps chuck in a golf, 205 (106 rallye?), CTR etc for comparison?

i missed top gear on sunday, and thought, i can see it on monday or tuesday when its repeated at about 8! but guess wot time it went out on tuesday? 11.20 i think it was! plus i don't have a tv recorder which actually records! (think i need to sort that out) so i missed it both times and it sounded awsome!

i'll go cry in the corner now!
