did they only come in 16's but varied in the width ie 6/16, 7/16, 8/16? or did they come in 17's aswell?

Yep, varied in width from 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 inch wide, but only in 16" diameter.

Unpolished sets in the most common sizes, i.e. 6x16 and 7x16 go for somewhere around 2 - 300 €, don't know how much that is in CHF (sorry). Polished sets can go for up to 1000 €, but 7 - 800 is reasonable. Adapter sets can be had from around 150 - 200 € per axle, but I've seen cheaper offers as well, most often without TüV. Rarer sizes (meaning wider) are generally more expensive, but we have no use for them anyway.

Hope that helps.

I like both, actually - it also depends on the rest of the car and its color.

talking about the sizes were the clubsports in 16's also or were they available in 17's..i once remeber seeing a polo 16v in silver with 17 inch porsche turbo rims from a french tuner in the performance vw magazine did you see it?

I think I remember that, I believe it's the same sliver Mk4 as in the above pic, but then with 17 inch Porsche Turbo wheels. I'll try to find a pic.

AFAIK, the Clubsports (C2 but with spokes that mold into the lip) only came in 16" too.
