Give your insurance company a ring and ask for some advice.

it's a tough one - tbh i would let him know that if it goes through the insurance company they won't get it done at ford's - so what's the point in quoting "£600" or whatever he has said - they send it to one of their recommended body shops to do the work...NOT FORD - if he wants to take it to ford for the work to be done, he has to ring round and get 3 quotes from 3 seperate ford garages.

Don't take this as gospel - but that is what i was told by my insurance company, when someone pulled out on me. If i were you i'd call round your local bodyshops and ask them roughly how much it would be to repair it - from the pictures that you have - then go back to him and say thats what you are willing to pay. At the end of the day its worth trying rather than shelling out your excess.

It's a cr4p situation though - gutted for you :(

well i'd definately bring up the point he was trying to get you to pay for colour coding and make sure he doesnt try it again

I second that, tell them that he has black textured rubstrips and handles but is trying to claim for coloured ones.

was it in a private car park or a public car park? did u have to get a ticket to park there or not? cause from wat i heard if its in a public car park and u park over the line, it means u can get done for it as u are then stopping the space next to u being used. after all if u have pics to prove he was over the line then use them.

failing that, u could go to the police and tell them wat happened and show them the pics and see wat they say.

i know if i parked like he did id be embarrised to. once again hes one of these people who has a big car and cant bloody park it. god id hate to see him drive.

but i agree it pisses me of when people like that, id say u done me a favour cause when i see them parked like that i really feel like purposely driving into there car to annoy them then go park somewhere else so they dont know it was me.

good luck watever u do.

DONT FORGET WAT I SAID ABOUT IF ITS IN A PUBLIC CAR PARK!!! IM 98% SURE U CAN GET DONE FOR PARKING OVER THE LINE IN A PUBLIC CAR PARK. AND U HAVE PICS IF HE WANTS TO DENY HIS PARKING.

tell them he was parked over the line to as to them, this might make it partially his fault to thus not screwing u over as much. personally i know wat id like to do to him........... but thats another story for another time........ since u have ur car sorted and no scratches u could try denying it all, unless he was witnesses. after all with no marks on ur car wat can he prove? he can say someone went into him but he cant prove it was u.

that way they can see other people's points of view
.......if only insurance companies worked liked that!

hope it gets sorted with as little hassle as possible for you
