The AX GTI was a 1.4 8v, not even a 16v.

It wasn't called a GTI cos the AX GT ran carbs (without spelling the obvious - the i in GTi stands for injection - as in fuel injected).
Like most things french, once they reach a certain age they only are fit for the scrapper, which is where almost all of them are now.
The AX GT was a 1.4 8v on carbs.
The AX GTI was a 1.4 using injestions system.
Both existed but are very rare now.
