i thought that too, but the amount of cars i see driving round with smaller ones makes me wonder........

Im not if kipper means making the actually lettering and plate smaller or if he basically means the equivalent of chopping the ends off?

Well it would be illegal if you canged the spacing or size of lettring, but if you kept the spcing and sizing the same but just shortened the plate, then that wouldnt be a problem.

You're right Phil, the most he can do legally is get some cut of each end.

There has to be a certain gap between the end and the first/last letters though

they will fit, will just have to buy the mk4 bulb holders iirc? basically the oppositte to mk4 owners wanting mk5 rears?

Think your talking about the strips along the doors? If so, use methanol spirit with a cloth and scrub it off. Its gonna kill your arm but unless you really scrub the spirit in the glue, it won't flex and come off.

or you could invest in a toffee wheel (not sure if thats the correct term). its a small rubberesque drill attachment that you go over the sticky stuff with and it pretty much whips it off. it takes out all the graft but does the job just as perfect. i used to have a 'wurth' one and it worked like a charm.

You'll then have to fill the holes left behind them.

That drills more expensive then £2 at the shops but i know some cars do get left with really stiff glue left at the edges. I sanded the top layer away then used the spirit for them bits. The drills probably better for that though- just don't ruin the paint whatever you do

drillls arnt a problem, being a qualified carpenter i got 3 cordless and 2 corded. but its all done now and im sure youve all seen and hopefully the front bumper will be done thsi week sometime to.

another thing, if ur not allowed to change the lettering how come i seen cars with smaller lettering on the number plate?

Just ain't bothered about getting caught I guess. There's so many cars with aftermarket plates on too that the cops don't pull you up unless they really feel like it. I was following a copper once following a car with illegal plates (white plate on the back with italic font) and not bother. However, on their bad days they certainly will and you wouldn't want it to be you.

anyone know if black tinted angel eyes wouldl fail an mot or if theyll pass? same with tinted rear lights and dark side indicators front and side.

also where u can get replacement rings and bulbs for the angel eye lights?

with body filler and some mesh to cover the holes but have been told this isnt that good as it can crack......... well just have to see when its done tho.

someone must know the answer to my questions about the lights and angel eyes? or do u think i should go for clear angel eyes?
