Once a year adjust them up and down and regrease to stop seizer, it's not that much effort!

hmm...

so the handling difference between a shocks/springs kit and coilovers is big?? definately worth the extr outlay?

I'm not so sure on the difference between handling on shock and spring kits and coilovers, it'll totally depend on what kit you purchase though.

The prime reason for purchasing coilovers is that they are adjustable so you can get the perfect ride height.
