Mines still got that 'monster truck' look too. Got some 60mm springs/shocks being dropped in by 'vw-po-low' tomorrow. So will be fitting them in 2 weeks, along with my refurbed alloys in 2 weeks (got time off!).

haha my excuse is i needed them to get it through its MOT lol. Im thinking of going abit lower, i know its cooool to have it ripping your arches and tyres to shreads everytime you go over a bump, but you all have to admit, its not very practical is it? As for spending more time planning your route and watching that you arnt going over any potholes than watching traffic... I hope you were joking, lol its not worth being that low if every trip to Tesco's involved a 10 mile detour to avoid a speedbump. lol Dont get me wrong, slammed is cool as f*ck, and ill probably drop mine abit more, I jus dont see the point of doing it to the point at which you cause damace to your tyres/arches/subframe/ whatever else is grinding against the road. No one else agree? maybe everyone apart from me can afford new oil sumps and tyres every ten mins, id rather keep it drivable with a nice stance than have my pan scraping the floor and p*ssing oil all over the place

ha, ill get the arches filled when i get some nice new wider wheels Im not bothering with my current alloys, ive given up hope that however much i paint them they will ever look any good lol.

Nice set of 15 or 16 inch rims will set it off a treat.

Agree with you there, i've got to have practicality over cost & looks, otherwise it doesn't make sense! Rather have the money for upgrades than for repairs!

originally i lowered my car about 20mm higher then wat it currently was and i never had n e rubbing but now i lowered it i rub all the time cause i wanted to have the wheels just inside the arches but now decided i think im gonna rasie it again about 15-20mm and see how it looks then. thats the reason i did it for the looks.

obviously when i said about looking ont he road obviously i was watching the vehicles as well.

haha thanks for the compliments guys, i think its dropped abit more today, ive been hammering around in it and its deffinitly a few mm lower, probably just bedding in?Ive got the MOT tomorow, which i dont fancy failing on the count of the wheels fouling the arches hehe, but ill be going lower with a set of the right wheels, dont you guys worry, im not going over 14"s tho... IMO look abit silly on the mk4.
im thinking some steffan BCW's for summer and wellers for winter... or maybe just wellers all year round as they are cool as sh*t lol.

I've seen some 13X8 4x100 wellers for sale somewhere. I've been searching so many 'for sale' sections on forums recently though I can't remember which one it is!!

If I come across it again I'll post it on here.

Am I going to be the first one to say that I used to like them but not too keen on them anymore. I saw a set on a mark2 golf and didn't think they looked right, probably because they have to be properly slammed to get the full effect. Oh - and to confirm, the toy land rover at the kiddies park up the road from me are extremely close to wellers and I'm going to get a picture to confirm them. I'm running 15" RXii's and they look perfect (imo) and up to 16" can look good. Anything over looks out of place.

Yeh they don't look right there, the arches are too big on the mark2 Golf for them IMO

they look horrific
that picture might have just put me off wellers...

Do it on the right car and it looks great, I still prefer banded steels though!

yeah that blue one with wellers is he one thats insprired me to get them really, looks amazing

The top one is my fav, the dunlop tyres just complete the look

yeah i agree mate, im battling an inner turmoil, whether to get some for winter, or keep my rancid but perfectly working wheels over winter and get some lovely alloys in summer lol
