Yeh they're darker.

It's totally down to opinion really. I think angel eyes look way too tech and a bit tacky.

Has anyone else put these on? . . .I want a little change for my car and would like to see some more photo's of them before I buy.

Do you usually just go to any garage and ask them to fit them?

I hate that orange light that comes as standard so I will be buying the same bulbs as the OP to make them nice and bright and have the only orange bulb as the little indicator.

I don't have HIDS I'll just be using normal bright bulbs as I have read that using them can melt the wiring or something? Can anyone actually tell me what HIDS are lol. . .are they just bulbs? If I buy these Angel Eyes do the H1 bulbs go behind the rings? . .or are they different. As it stands I have H1's as the standard lights, and then full beam and dusk lights. If you put on full beam, or standard beam do the rings supply the same amount of light as the current standard bulbs? I'm confused as to how these work lol. Can you change the bulbs after the lights are fitted?

I'm very excited but still don't know if I'll get them perfect including the bulbs - I might just buy everything off the eBay links posted including the bulbs lol :D

I would actually probably prefer standard GTi lights but they aren't on eBay anymore.

So does anyone have any new pictures / advice? :)

Thanks.

Here you go mate, I uploaded you an album of my Angel Eyes for you.

In the picture you can see theres a picture which compare the standard bulbs you can get and on the left side of my car they are my HID's 12000k

HID = High Intensity Discharge. I don't think they will melt you wiring as I have had them in for... around 4-5 months? And if it does melt your wires then, i'd probably have had mine vapourised by now. I've just put my stock headlights back in because I am changing my HID's and waiting for them to come and, you can really tell the difference between the stock headlights and Angel Eyes headlights. The Angel Eyes make a big difference and they are actually really attractive. Well I'll let you decide by the pictures.

Well, I'll let you do the deciding on which lights are better

Thanks for those photo's mate :)

In that album is the 4th and 5th album the angel eyes with full beam on, and then half beam? :)

I notice you changed the horrible orange light but I presume those are part of your HIDS.

What do you think they brightest bulbs I could get without being HIDS would be. Does the cars wiring only allow a certain wattage?

The picture on the right with just the little rings on the lights (are these just the low light switch - not half beam of full?).

Looks awesome I think I'm going to get them when I understand the bulbs and stuff lol.

Ok, heres what you need to understand.

Sidelights: Lights you turn on only when it's starting to get dark so car's notice you about, not for your own purpose. These are the very bright LED's right at the very top and the halo rings. (picture 5 in the album)

Dipped Beams: These are the lights that you turn on when it is dark and you need help seeing the road clearly. These are the bright ones that I have replaced from the yellow ones. (picture 4 in the album)

Main Beam: These you only use when it is extremely dark when you can not see what so ever (meaning there are no street/road lights), or when you flash people to let them pass. I haven't replaced these yet but I don't need anything big as I rarely use them.

The brightest bulb which aren't HID will not compare to the brightness of HID's. The brightest HID's will be 4,300k which is a yellow colour. But very unattractive unless you use in your foglights. So people normally go for 6,000k which is a pure white light, or 8,000k white light with a blue tint. Then there is 10,000k, which is a white light with obvious tint of blue. And then there is the beast, 12,000k :) Which are in my lights now, which you can tell from the picture, emits light which is almost completely blue.

If you want really bright lights I would suggest 6,000k or 8,000k.

Thanks for that explanation :)

I prefer pure white as opposed to blue so I will be looking for some 6,000k bulbs. :) I see on a listing about the angel lights it says "using H1's for high beam and low beams and it's installed in the light". Is it normal for two of the same bulbs to be used? I've only ever had to replace my main beam bulbs before and thought those were H1's. I've never had to change the "dipped beams" but I'll just look for a 6,000k brightness for the bulb the dipped beam uses (a H1 I believe), and the "sidelights" which are H7?

I'm very excited :D Just waiting for the bodyshop to contact me and give me a quote :D
