Nah, it's not mine, one of my good friends, he trusts me with it so I've had some good lengthy drives in it.. It's such a stupidly quick car 0-100mph and surprises many modern cars. I prefer driving this G40 than my dads M3 which says something!

I would love a G40 one day, they are a proper little pocket rockets and upset so many modern cars.
The only downside is finding a clean one that hasnt been tampered with too much, I would rather have my GTI for day to day use but a G40 as a weekend car would be immense!

Did you have a chance to get that measuring block info dude...im working on the motor today so it would be rather useful!

It works with the engine off but ignition on. If I remember it was between 1-10, so just trawl through the measuring blocks pushing the throttle on each one to see if a value changes with throttle push.

he used to own my GTi
now owns a 170bhp g40
and is currently saving to buy an M3! lol
he says hell never sell the G. its way to much fun!
the look on peoples faces as he drives (or rather wheel spins up the road) is brilliant
hes constantly getting approached by people of all ages wanting to know what it is, or whether its real! lol

Agree!!!! there are KAs and Micras and Fiestas of the same ages that just dont hold out as well as the polos

Don't get me wrong.. The M3 is an unbeliveable machine, it was shockingly comfortable, quiet, refined and easy to drive around town and I never took it over 1.5k up to about 40mph whilst totting around. But put your foot down and it sounds unreal and reaches some silly speeds without any effort. Thing is, you don't feel the speed, you think your doing 40mph but your actually doing 80mph+ so there is little point to driving fast in it apart from getting somewhere quicker.

Where as in the G40's you can't help but nail it everywhere because it justs want's to go and makes you smile all day long. If I had the M3 I would never drive it fast becuase you never get that ever so happy G-Smile, with the M3 you nail it and think... Meh, this is ok but I'm wasting petrol and I have to concentrate harder, let's cruise again and look pimp.

But saying that, If I was to be given as a daly either a 170BHP+ G40 or M3, I would choose the M3. But if I could have one to drive for the day.. G40 everytime!

I was ever so tempted to sell it and buy a MK2 GTi 16v.. But with all I have spent on it and have so many plans it'd be silly of me. Plus No Polo GTi's are selling at the moment what so ever.. Whats up with that!?

I was at Castle Combes this weekend and there was lovely M3's there.
My favourite is the E36 M3, there was a stunning Blue one at Combes sitting on BBS rims and it looked awesome!

I have always seen them as a bit of a drug dealers car but they are very good looking cars.
Give me a G40 anyday I do understand what you mean reference comfort and day to day driving though, the G40's are very dated inside.

thats why i think Jack will get bord lol. he loves the feeling of speed. i wonder if hell get bord not feel the force sort of thing.
but i want him to get one cose i love the interior it looks sooo comfy and i love the tv lol

thats kindda like what he keeps saying to me. the G isnt a daily. its fun as hell. but he cant go on the motor way without going deff.
and in the wet it pretty much spins in every gear. he wants to store it at mine and get it out once in a while

you'd probably miss it if you sold it specially with like you said the plans you have. you want to get them done. i still miss my onle SE cose i had so much i wanted to do to her.
and its hard when youve spent so much money on a car. because you can spend near £1000s and never get your money back sort of thing. the best thing is to enjoy it for as long as possible

however my boyfriend and his mate have a golf gti for sale if u ever change your mind
