Revo are stating that they can iron out the misfires with their software. As well as a plug change, which improves things greatly.
But the engine is meant to have bore wash to help cool the cylinder down. If Revo are removing this, then potentially, they are asking for greater problems, no? APR don't remove this feature as it is seemingly an important aspect of keeping the engine running properly. And removing the glaze is a good thing, a glazed bore is what generally causes the oil consumption issues because the bore is now polished smooth and the rings can no longer seat properly under pressure, hence causing blow-by, oil contamination and oil consumption. To get rid of glazing though requires the engine to be dismantled and the bore re-honed, either chemically or mechanically.

Look, I'm not having a go here at Revo becuase they are a reputable brand and they know their stuff, evidenced by their product all over the world. What I am having a go at though is what this representative of Revo is saying which is incorrect and if there is one thing I can't stand about tuning companies, it's when they don't give the proper information to their customers. I would like to know their answer to this hypothetical question:

My GTI doesn't have any misfires, I have data logged the engine etc and the whole thing across the whole rev range runs brilliantly. Why then, is the car still using oil?

Mine never misfired either and used loads if oil.

That's exactly what i did. I narrowed my choice to shark performance, APR and P Torque. Was torn between shark and APR in the end, but Shark offered me a deal I couldn't refuse. Ended up skipping stage 1 and going straight to stage 2
