On the R-Line, the DRLs and headlights are all LED; only the foglights and kerb marker lights (the ones that come on when you are turning at low speed) are the old halogens
You can see the U shaped DRLs in the headlight units, along with white individual LEDs in centre of low beam and high beam reflectors in pic below...

Right, the one I have has yellow daytime, I didn't notice the R-Line had both LED. Then I can just change the marker lights to yellow to white and I am done. Saves me time and money

Do you not recommend fitting a Powerflow exhaust? The person there recommended me the thing you did and told me it's my choice where I'd like a single or twin exhaust at the back, which is the only thing that will "significantly" change.
Maybe it's where I live or I am being too honest in the insurance questions but literally the 6R is the only car along w/a Corsa and Fiesta are the ones with the lowest premium. I tried a 2014 Golf and I also tried a Civic normal and R-type and all three gave me quite a high premium.
If it's a nice lightning tip like the milltek gt86 I think one is enough on the r-line, and probably is where you live London's quite high saying that the mercedes c250 will be ridiculously high insurance, my polo (we're same age) is around £400-600 not my own name though. Apply to MFU mutual (farmers union) insurance you'll get a massive drop in price and you have a test to do for them. If it has the sensor on the front it the crucial piece, as a golf gti/gtd is cheaper than the polo in my own name by £500, parking sensors are a major insurance dropper

It is, or If I want to, I can get a twin exhaust. It's all on looks, the single and the double have the same sound.
They said I will get a noise like this, approximately:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akNywGIh9o4
However, I saw other Polos have nicer exhausts and some crack/pops and they said it's custom built, so I am still in the looks

I wouldn't be investing a lot in it tbh it's a 1 litre 3 cylinder at the end of the day, you don't want the local mcdonalds teen look aka a knob.

Yeah ahah, the only reason I am willing to get one is because it's sub £250 so it's a considerable amount. If it was anything more than that it would've been a bye.
Kinda sucks being an R-Line it's a 1.0L 3 cylinders. Nowadays the R-Line and the higher up the chain models should have standard 4cy, smh.

DamnRian, apologies if you'll do this as a matter of course, but please remember that if you are going to modify your car, then you'll need to declare the modifications to your insurer, who may charge you an additional premium, depending on what the modifications are.
If you don't declare modifications to your insurer, this could result in your insurer invalidating your insurance cover, and I wouldn't want a fellow forum member to be breaking the law by driving an uninsured car!

Surely will report any modifications. It's really important to be honest for me, hence why, thinking of the premium on each modification I put

I may be an old fart, but when I finally found a quite new and low mileage 2011 Audi S4 B8 to buy secondhand, I was quite pleased to find that it had been fitted with a Miltek exhaust with big single black ovals instead of twin rounds exhausts on each side - seemed strange that the original owner replaced that exhaust within months of buying it new, but there you go! Got an insurance quote and I reported the "sports" exhaust - got hurt quite a bit - but it does look good, though maybe not that good to increase my policy by probably £80>£120 a year - it does make me consider, at times, how much more I could modify that car and still stick within that "extra" premium hiking price group??
I think that after graduating and getting a proper job, ie become of professional worker, you will be glad that you have stuck with an low insurance car, after you have "served your term" with that type of car and you have become a safer insurance risk, you will be able to buy bigger/better car in the knowledge that you have not been a cash cow to these insurance companies!

Very true RUM4MO, but I think we all can be a bit nuts when it comes to having our car perfect, all it takes is turning £80-120 a year into 22p-33p a day. I wanted a polo for ages but I couldn't put mine back to stock now I hate putting the standard 15in alloys back on for winter lol

Hum, you mentioning putting 15" alloys back on for winter reminds me that in the case of my wife's August 2015 Polo 1.2TSI 110PS SEL, it comes with the bigger discs and accordingly 16" alloys, I bought a set of 6R VW alloys that gets called "Riverside" 15" alloys for winter use, they do look quite "tight" over these bigger discs, but still okay it seems!
I am just guessing the extra I am paying for having that exhaust, but I'd reckon that that is roughly what it is, still it pales into insignificance when set against the penalty I pay for having that engine and manual transmission - £500 a year last year instead of maybe £255ish.
My latest weakness is trying to retrofit front parking system with OPS (as per factory fit) to my S4 that only came with rear parking system, that involves removing the front bumper and drilling it!
I can't mock anyone for modifying their car, though in the past I bottled it with converting the single din ICE housing to two din (would have involved cutting a few original bits out of the dash) or fitting front fog lights to my old 2000 Passat 4Motion (no OEM parts existed though Votex did market a kit for a short period before I bought that car new)!
Edit:- I think that it was you that said having parking sensors drops insurance premium, I have not heard about that - I would not mind if it is true, though it would do nothing for my plans to retrofit like factory fit, front sensors to my car, the insurers only accept things that were factory fitted!

The riverside alloys were the exact ones I meant lol, they are just too tight. I'm a believer in you might as well have something you enjoy and pay a little bit extra than something you're pleased with but won't cherish.
Sorry by sensor I meant the city emergency brake sensor, I feel you about the parking sensors, its not a necessity but it's nice having them I might do a rear camera or sensors in the golf think the sensors would be cheaper than since the amount of bumpers there are for sale now.
I definitely couldn't drill your s4, I'd have to pay someone so then at least if it goes wrong they buy a new bumper

Making holes in the front bumper:- it seems that at least Audi, and I'd guess all the other marques, have a moulded in circle with a cross so you end up making the hole in the correct spot. I have bought a kit for doing this, you just drill a hole suitable for a cutter that pulls in from the outside, the idea is, with a 17.8mm hole cutter, you up with a 17.4mm hole with the outer skin just pulled/rolled in enough to stop you needing to paint the "edge" of the hole as you would if just drilling a hole.
It will be a bit of a disaster if I damage the front bumper fitting these sensors as the idea behind them is to avoid you touching things while parking!
Refitting the front bumper with perfect alignment will also be a steep learning curve as Audis use adjustable posts that need backed off a bit for the first bumper removal.
Who knows, I might become an expert?

Back on the topic of bulb colours, I used to have a 2000 Passat 4Motion and it was spec'd up as a factory order to have HIDs, that car was delivered with side lights that were yellowish and main beams that were also yellowish - idiots!

Not sure regarding the are where you are located, but around my area labour for fitting sensors/cameras are charged moderately. If I want to go to an approved bodyshop the premium is 20-40 quid more. You should (if already you didn't) consider it so you have a safety net increase they screw up.
