I'm on my 3rd Gunsons brake Ezibleed, the seals always seem to go hard even although I am "good" at washing everything through and drying it in the airing cupboard - where all the bits remain in a storage case keeping dry until the next time.

I place plenty of old newspapers over the engine area and covering the bottle and brake reservoir areas to contain any possible leakage.

My wife's Polo, since C-19, has developed a small knocking noise from the driver's side - yes, a small bottle of hand sanitiser in the door pocket!

Have a look on Ebay for Viton rubber sheet. It comes in various thicknesses. It's far more resistant to chemicals, oxidation and high temperature (200deg+) and keeps it's elasticity. Just buy a sheet in the thickness that suits and cut your own to size. That should last.

Just a quick question?

Car feels like new again and now it's had chance to settle I've measured from the centre of the wheel to the top of the arch. I'm measuring 365mm give or take a smidge. Anyone know off the top of their head what the numbers should be for std ride height?? It wouldn't surprise me if it was a little high with it all being new again. I'm just curious really.

I've just checked my wife's August 2015 6C 1.2TSI 110PS SEL and it measures 360mm.

I'm not too surprised that your car is sitting a bit higher than it used to, that was what I discovered when I replaced the springs and dampers on my older daughter's late 2009 Ibiza 1.4 16V SC SE, and that really annoyed me, but I guessed that it is down to all aftermarket road springs being a compromise between the weight range VW Group used and the next weight range, or in another way, if VW used 5 spring weight ranges to cover all Polo 6R, then aftermarket will make do with maybe 3 spring weight ranges. I think that I rote the exact number that VW used on 6R in an earlier posting to this thread.

Thanks for the tip wrt material for seals.

I had a little hunt last evening and found the factory numbers.
Standard running gear (G09/G10)
Front. 366 ± 10 mm / Rear. 382 ± 10 mm

Sports running gear (G12/G22/G27)
Front. 351 ± 10 mm / Rear. 367 ± 10 mm
Heavy-duty suspension (G13/G14/G33/G34)
Front. 381 ± 10 mm / Rear. 397 ± 10 mm

Like you, I expected it to be sitting a little high, at least to begin with. However it appears to be pretty much where it should be. Then again with the car sitting low on a broken spring for a few days seeing it back at normal height, it just looked a little high. The original spring spec spring was 6R0411105B (3 green/3 white)

Next job, minor service :| :)

I think that it is always a very good idea to measure and record ride heights, I have never done that but I think that I will now!
If I had done that with my older daughter's late 2009 Ibiza when I took on looking after it while she was working abroad, I would have had a reference number to compare the new springs with, instead of thinking the worst!
An easy job for a wet day as the Polo is in the garage, my car can wait as it is parked outside in the rain.
The springs on the front of her Polo 6C are white green green green green 6R0 411 105C .
