Well, last night I also made some changes to the adjustment channels (C35, C36, C7) and today they worked.

So it seems there is some kind of delay in accepting the new adaptations from BCM, i don't know exactly.
The fact is that the C35 C36 and C37 are programmable through adaptation map.

Something to mention: It is possible those pins (and channels) are made for ambient lighting. Τheir names remind me of something like this.

Perhaps you needed to do a canbus resting period?

Yes its very possible these were intended for ambient lighting in different models. Is all working now?

Yes seems all working now. I adapted them as "Standlicht" (in English Position lights) for now.

For sure there must be a specific period of time or specific steps someone needs to follow to make the changes happen. I don't know exactly, but it's a pity because you have to wait to see the changes (you can't see them at the moment what you are doing), even though it seems that the module has accepted the changes.

This BCM module is the same with the VW GOLF MK8 and SEAT LEON MK4.

Thank you for your support it means a lot to me.

Ambient light in the dash

This is not an OEM retrofit, but i think has the same optical results as the OEM.
For an OEM retrofit there is a need of BCM change, and of course other dash trims and door panels.

SKODA Octavia mk4 has ambient lights in the dash, front doors and at the feet of the passengers. This is a photo of the original ambient light.

My model hasn't this kind of feature

I decided to do it my way.
I bought from AliExpress a set of car ambient lights. It looks like this
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005 ... 26622338_4
It has LED strips, extremely narrow with a nice light effect, 64 colors, dual zone color adjustment through an application from mobile phone.
Image Image

I removed the dash trim inserts (very easily, without any tools, just with hands)

Image Image

This is the small dash decor insert. At the inner side has enough space for the OEM lights, so there isn't any problem with the LED strips to fit.
Image Image

I cut a LED strip and attached it with VHB 3M double sided tape. This is the result
Image Image

I did the same with the other (bigger) one.

Image Image Image

Now the wiring.

I dismounted some plastic trims at the driver's side.
Image Image

Found a spot to install the main module of the set. (under the central console). You can see the module at the 2nd photo.
Image Image

And the wire route under the carpet.
Image Image

I had already found a way to connect the 12V supply to the BCM (pin C35). There are some posts on the same tread here viewtopic.php?t=78683&start=30

I route the wires for the LED strips though the dash and...

...ready for the final test.

Happy new year to all.

I would like to proceed with the installation of ambient lighting. Now it's time for the doors.
The kit i received consists of the central module and 4 sub modules for the doors. These communicate with each other via bluetooth and when the central module works, it gives a signal and the other 4 work as well. Thus, communication cables between the brains are not needed
My question is how to connect the submodules to the doors, so that they get current only when the car is running so that they don't drain the battery while waiting.

Those are the schematics from my car for the passenger door.

Any idea ?

I forgot to note that the thick cable that brings the +12 current, comes directly from the battery, so if I connect it there, there is a risk of draining the battery.

Is your lease company aware of the modifications you are making to their car?

No, the leasing company does not know anything about any modification. And I hope he doesn't find out.
However, they know me, I have delivered cars that passed through my hands in excellent condition. For the GOLF that I had for a few months (in which I managed to put some things, see here: https://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?t=78237) when I handed them in they told me that if we definitely wanted ( as a company) to deliver it) because it was perfect, like new and they gave me congratulations.

Ambient light in the door trim.

As i mentioned before i choose a ambient light kit with nice led strips. I already did the dash ambient light.

This is the original ambient light in the front doors.

Image

So this is "my way" of doing this.

i removed the door panel.

Image

I disapply the glossy trim from the door panel. I used a wire solder tool to melt the joints one by one (thirteen total)
Image

This is the door panel without the trim
Image

This is the trim.
Image Image

the idea was to remove a thin strip from the piece so that the led tape could fit.

Image Image Image

And them to fit the LED strip. I choose to fit it with 3M double side tape (VHB)
Image Image Image

After that i put the trim in its original place.
Image

I made sure that it was fitted perfectly and then i fit it with the help of a solder iron ( i melted again the plastic joints)
Image

Now the wiring.

Image
Image

I put everything back in their place and tried them.

Image
Image

I am very pleased with the result. It wanted a lot of work and effort. Now I know how to do the remaining 3 doors.

Entry lights Rear Doors

Skoda does not have rear door lighting in any of its versions.

So if someone wants to get something like this, they have to improvise. The method is well known, I followed it in my Polo too.

Creating holes for the light fixture in each door panel

And the way to connect the cables also known.

A quick question if anyone knows.

I bought this USB module (from Aliexpress). I want to add USB ports to the rear seat of my Octavia. This is not the part that fits from the factory to my car.
Image
Image

I just found it on Ali and because it was much cheaper than anything else, and I bought it. I thought that since I would do the wiring (wiring) I would be able to make it work. As a box it fits exactly at the plastic trim (it perfectly clicks)
But I couldn't do it. I used the connection from my own car, their lighting lit them but I didn't get a current for charging in any case.
This is the connection I followed.
Image

This spare parts are entering VW's quite a few cars (Golf8, T-Roc, ID3 etc)
Does anyone have the connection of this spare parts to compare it to the one I did?
