my first year driving was about £1200 too,now its about £650 but planning to put a bigger engine in soon and then it'll kill me lol,
I just turned 20,But my first year i didnt declare my mods lol

I wish I knew that before I renewed last year lol. I paid £1300 with Brentacre - 1 years no claims, no convictions, 21 yrs old, all mods declared, and was 1 month off having passed my test for 4 years.

Yeh brentacre quoted something very similar to me also.

That's everything declared! Plus the added bonus of being able to drive anyone's car with their permission

yeah bell is really good,if you put in a low renewal amount they try bring it near that.
My renewal quote was £1200 and i put on bell it was £700 and they gave me £650. all mods declared too,and i only 1 have 1 years NCB.

Guess I'm going to Bell for a quote when my renewal is due then lol.

UPDATE.

Changed the oil on the weekend, put some Titan XTR in it. For anyone planning to do this yourself, have some patience with the filter. Mine was a b*stard to get out! The screw rounded off, had to remove the heat shield to get to it.

And because of that ordeal, one thing lead to another, and...

Phone pics don't really do the colour justice. I used the heat ready paint from halfords. It was pretty bad to be honest, had alot of issues with flaking. Anyone used this before or can recommend anything else?

Also flushed the coolant, the tank looked minging so I'm in the process of cleaning that up. also got going on this too!

Plans are now to get the washer fluid, brake fluid and power steering fluid painted also. So should be looking at a nicely colour coded bay!!

Fuel filter and brake bleed to come soon also.

nice idea with the colouring. You will have to get some pics up of your engine bay with the stuff in place tim.

forgot to mention the rocker cover also needs doing, bought some nitro mors for that. Not sure what paint to use to re-apply though. Perhaps the halfords heat resistant brush on?

I used foliatec red brake caliper paint, worked a treat, very resistant and matched the calipers It's also a very similar red just a tiny bit brighter

I also used some halfords stuff. It could do with being a little more glossy, and mine flaked aswell
