Mine just says it's left the factory on the My VW page, doesn't say which one. Will check the VIN when it appears...
I suspect next call for me will be when it's in this country.

As the lady in the dealer said to me today, I just hope it turns up before winter sets in. It can hide in the garage like my pug did last winter!

My gti still hasn't been given a build date yet, the tracker on vw website says 'order with the factory'

I bet it gets delivered when there's a foot of snow in the uk! I'd be interested to know complete timescale for your gt's from order to build in spain to arrival at dealer..... I'm getting impatient now!!

Funlovincriminal - how long did the dealership tell you the order will take?

They should have given you a estimated delivery times. Mine was 10 weeks and it took 10 weeks.

Theirs discussion about the 1.4 being in short supply & possible of removal or limited ranges which is backed up by long delivery times

I ordered first week of September & I just checked the vw website with my order number and i have been given build week of 13th October...... So lets see how long till it's on my drive! The dealership said average 12 weeks from order to delivery, but it can vary either way, hopefully will be on the first ship from spain on the 14th October, but somehow i doubt it!

The A1 also had a long delivery time, but then saying that so did the Fabia (not the vrs, just a monte carlo), which had a different engine in. Certainly much longer than my pug which was built to order.
I do remember the TSI engine at that time in the VWs was in reasonably short supply!

@vc-10

I had one in on test recently, and real-world MPG during that week was high 40s, low 50s. Still good for a petrol car, though.

mines now approaching 8,000 miles and this is where i tend to be in terms of economy, it gets a real mixed bag of driving conditions and i never really pootle on the motorway, figures are better than my Fiat 500 TA. Even when spanking the thing along through the gears it never goes below 35

That MPG's what I get right now with my six year old 1.0 Aygo and I always said if the BlueGT can match that I'd be happy.... so come end Oct I should be happy!

OK guys my first post here as I joined to learn more about the BlueGT. I'm interested in real world mpg, and the manual v DSG cylinder shut down on motorways. Would appreciate hearing peoples views in helping me make a decision whether to join you in buying this car.

And thanks for all the help that you have given me this past few days with all the info on this site. And I didn't even know this model existed until this week!

Look forward to all your advice.

Peter

When did you all get your tracking numbers? My build week is this week and I've emailed the dealership on Monday asking for the tracking number and no response.

Is it something I should be expecting now the build week has more or less passed?

Should be the order number on your paperwork. Mine wasn't on there but one quick call to the dealer and he gave it to me over the phone as well as to reassure me once it's in the UK he'll ring and let me know the reg for the insurance.
