Hi guys, since I'm lucky yesterday the RLS stopped working.

Tonight headlight didnt turn on in AUTO mode and this morning under sunlight they did..

Autoscan revealed this:



I've checked wirings, they look fine. As long as you know is it possibile for a RLS to die like this?

I've disassembled the RLS. I'm surprised of pad conditions (orrible) even If this has nothing to do with autoscan error.

It is unusual for RLS to die suddenly ...

It looks like the sensor was subjected to high temperatures (under the Italian sun), although there should be no problems if that were the case.
In any case you will have to buy a new one from Ali (or two ), buy the C model, we'll see how long they last ...

Once the sensor has died, it doesn't matter to touch the gel pad that way, but it should never be done with a new or good sensor.

Hi Fernando, that's why im disappointed I thought It had lasted at least as much as the car!

I've been unlucky recently with sensors purchased from AE (remember my crazy PDC? https://youtu.be/o3p6xUWndm4).

I'm going to purchase a genuine sensor from ebay this time.

Unfortunatelly C model was much more expensive (the double) so I had to choose again a B model.

but it should never be done with a new or good sensor.

Of course I wont, I'll keep this one for anti-stress use.

I've finally found a place for front PDC speakers!
If you don't know where to put it maybe you would think to consider this solution: I've used the heated seats unit as bracket.

For those guys who retrofitted front + rear PDC on Polo 6R, do you use a 5A or a 7.5A fuse?

Elsawin for Polo 6R talks about a 5A fuse but It consider only rear PDC.

I'm using 5A and it never blew

Hi guys, I need a suggestion please for the second time I got from AE rubbish metal pads like which are impossible to fix properly with plastic clamps because on the rear there are a lot of holes and rubber is so fragile which break when I try to push the plastic clamps behind it. General quality is also horrible!

Logically, the purchase links no longer work and I don't think it is possible to recommend a place to buy. Look on Aliexpress in stores that have a good reputation in terms of product quality (there are 3 or 4 stores on Ali that sell items that we could say are totally VW OEM), they are dedicated entirely to items of VW Group.

I don't know if the ones I bought are of good or bad quality (as you know, OEM does not exist for the 6R with 6C shape/style), I had no problem with these pedal caps when inserting the plastic zip ties.

- Only FYI, and surprisingly, the pedal caps that I installed remain fixed in position perfectly since then (6 years ), without any strange movement.

Dont overtighten the zip ties, and dont pierce the rubber holes too high. I used a small drill bit in my setup, and i used MK7 golf GTI pedals.
Also, cut the middle piece that sticks out

You wont be able to see the zip ties ( black on black) and it gives you more thickness if you pierce holes with a drill bit lower like on thenred dots that i marked

I purchased a new pedal caps set but once again quality is very bad so don't think will use them.

Anyway I want to share my last project: door's courtesy lights (white) + warning lights (red).

After long thinking about I found this was the best solution for me. What you think?

The warning and puddle lights on the doors look really good. Without a doubt one has to meditate on this installation before doing it.

You will have to review the electrical installation for the RLS, point by point of connection according to elsa, erwin. (the fuse should protect the RLS)
It is definitely not normal what happens with all the RLS that you have bought, ... of all the years that we have been with these stories no one reported such a circumstance with their RLS.

About the pedals ... no comment, you know.

I've also purchased skoda octavia's doors lights but don't really like them.

If you like this solution you may consider to finally perform the job.

About RLS I've checked all the 3 wires: RLS is powered (fuse 23 is fine) and signal wire has no interruption to t73b/24. Did I miss something?
