Vtr no problem at all in a 16v

not sure about a Vts, but i imagine the polo would be trounced

Anyone bringing thier Gti to santapod this weekend for some dragstrip action??

Your all forgetting that all VW 0-60 times are with 2 passengers and 1/2 a tank of petrol, GTi time is more like 7.6 rather then 8.4 and 16v is more like 9.5 rather then 10.6...

VTS isnt as fast as 106 GTi, not sure why but it aint...

Phill.

Not true, the VTS is faster than the 106 i think they have differnt gear ratio's and VTS's (mostly) came out the factory with better engines that produced a few more BHP

But if the VTR has a full exhaust system, maifold decat etc, it can see it produce almost 15bhp more as VTR exhaust systems are very restrictive out the factory.

stuart_hatch wrote:So what have you done to your car and what have you stripped out?
BMC filter with ram air intake
Supersprint manifold
2.25" full s/s system
decat

Ive removed things like seats, belts, spare wheel, tools, parcel shelf, rear wiper motor, cat (suprisingly heavy) and replaced my front seats with buckets (seats).

Saved approx. 60kg, worked this out by weighing all the items.

And Im still running 14's with 195/45 rubber.

Still I dont fancy going down untill I really have something to shout about. Hoping my next mods will allow me to beat the 106 GTI's and VTS's alike instead of either sticking with them or just holding them off.
Got any pics of your car mate?

dubpolo wrote:i can hold on to a 106! and my car is at least 60kg less than the standard GTi, i have no AC. no wonder you got wasted in the 16V. i don't know how i would go against a VTS, i can never seem to find any  . i had a race with a 2.0L corsa a few weeks ago. that was interesting. :?
I had a race with a 2.0 8v corsa at Edzell and whooped his arse. He was well impressed witht he polo if not a little annoyed at getting beaten by a 1.4

Dont think I would have the same result against a 2.0 16v though.
