hehe im sort-of peed off right now
heard some pre-release thing by Pendulum on r1 weeks back and liked it. it appealed to the mongo quickstepper buried somewhere within this 13 (if not more??) stone frame
pre-ordered the album on amazon thinking, this is pretty cool, a primer in new wave of D'n'B and another notch to my bow in the realm of "CDs that no-one else I know has"
now it's being advertised by HMV on the back of the metro and i realise my alternative taste has been, in turn, sold out and decieved.
still i like the disc even if it is actually Drum'n'Pop rather than a proper bassheads thing*. reminds me of synthchip demos on the old atari and the heady days when acid and jungle werent quite mainstream yet
one day i'll find my way back to whatever club it was i drunkenly stumbled into at uni where they were having a full on d'n'b night and i got legless on coca-cola, beats and lactic acid.
* it fuelled a good 1 hour 19 minutes and 42 seconds of engine re/deconstruction, and was also the record that cussed the latest stage of it when i made the faux pas of playing it again in the garage before the job was complete
lol can you tell im just trying to avoid finishing my work for tomorrow? the laptops still in my backpack and getting it out of there is giving me The Fear even though I know there's still a page and a half of A4 to be sorted before i can sleep...
