well do us all a favour and don't mention it on the forum, because all these people who complain about high premiums have people like you to thank. your car's effectively not insured.

if you can't afford it, don't do it.

I just managed to finally declare all mods thanks to HIC for £1105. Its still steap considering i'm 25 with 1 NCB. I'ev been paying £1700 for the past 2 years without mods or NCB. Hopefully keeps going down and no more accidents!

Don't think the insurance would be at all pleased if they ever found out you've squeezed a VR6 in a polo.

I'm not being harsh in my previous post.

I really wouldn't put the information on your VR6 conversion on the public domain if you haven't told your insurers. The Police are hot on this kind of thing, so it's likely in the event of a crash that some clever soul could find out you go on this forum and then have a quick poke around.....

You've completely missed the point and the attitude in your response is uncalled for. I gave you a piece of honest advice.

What you're doing is fraud, and it DOES drive premiums up.

you also mentioned it before anyone else brought it up. so now we're not allowed to comment on what you've said on a public forum? I expect 99% of the people reading about your potential insurance think exactly the same - it will only make people resent what you're doing - whether you go ahead with it or not. Most of the members here work hard to insure their cars, and only insure what they can afford to, I've had first hand experience and can only just about justify a "fast" modified car after 12 years of driving.

Last time I looked UK-Polos had a pretty decent reputation of being a mature and non-flaming site. Then you come up with a response like "I'll do what I want". I'm sure you will, but so will the Police.

You're doing a great job on the VR6 conversion, so by all means pull the thread back on topic without flaming negative responses.

if the cars not a daily driver, then it shouldnt be too bad. and hear hear, lets get back on topic!! ive been enjoying the build, so let hear some more about it. maybe we should set up a rant forum where people can let off some steam....incorporate some violent games maybe? could be fun :D

yes now victor has said his peice and messed up my topic (now looks like crap)
im not going to go on about why it came to be "flaming"

yes i have done loads of bending and smoothing
will get some more pics
bent the top of the door down as it didnt matc the lines of the car even tho the rest of the door did
cut and welded the plate for the door handles to be smoothed out
fitted the wings and lined them up
fitted my new steering wheel
cut the arches out ready for the bigger wheels
roled the arches out a little bit more on the front as the golf front end will be going on there
and then sprayed the iners of the sraches and the sills with stop chip

just got to do some more filling and flat it all back for primer
then i will have to go and pic the vr up
and start doing the "easy stuff"
i will be leaving the painting of the car till last so i dont harm the paint
as that will be exspensive and a gerneral pain in the ass
as a tin of primer is only £2 not a £800 spray job

the car is going green a darkish forest green met
then everything black and ali
what does everyone think????
