Seat Ibiza 6J, 2.0 TDI FR, Auto Lights Retrofit (BCM 88D)

Would suggest to take it step by step.
- Place the BCM Max, transfer coding, learn keys
- Install the a/63 and b/68 wires BUT have a critical look at the diagram
- Install the new CAN lines
- Install the new wires for light switch with auto setting
- Install all wires to exterior lights

If you take a look at the wires to a/63 and b/68, you'll see that they feed from the fuse box to the BCM.
The BCM outputs for low beam are wires from a/2 and b/2 directly to the lights.

Now the low beams are connected to SB39 and SB59 (at least in Polo 6R) in BCM 087 via the J331 low beam relay

+30 --- low beam relay --- SB39 --- headlight 1 T10/6
                       --- SB59 --- headlight 2 T10/6

+30 is a way of designating a wire as a constant positive, bosch terminal 30. +15 is an ignition live plus.

Now you can follow OEM wiring schemes but I'd suggest the way ciclo often does the BCM Max retrofit.
So bridge the J331 low beam relay. This way the output of the relay is now +30 that splits to SB39 and SB59.
Remove the outputs from SB39 and SB59. Connect these wires to a/63 and b/68. Now we have the +30 inputs sorted for the BCM.

The outputs of the BCM for low beam come from a/2 and b/2 and you can now lead them to SB39 and SB59. remember they were already there?
This way you don't have to mess around too much with the wiring.

Just an idea. If you choose to do it the OEM way, I'm perfectly fine with that as well, it's just a bit more work.

Just verified that on 7L6 6J loom, SC57/58 feeds come straight from 110A battery feed in the boot. So there is a good chance I'll have to make that feed, which isn't a problem

Excuse the rats nest of wiring, the two red wires far left are SC57/58 feed, and they go into the loom to the 10mm large battery feed

I only have Fridays and Saturdays to work at the car itself, so wanna make sure everything is there.

2.0TDI current SC57/58 are low beam fuses correct.
1.2TDI loom SC57/58 are the feeds to BCM T73a/2 and T73b/2, which I have all the wiring for.

I also will need relay J828 for high beam in auto mode, which I have the carrier for, just waiting for the relays. So i'll get it wired up tomorrow ready for relay delivery saturday.

Headlights are twin reflector H7 (dipped and full beam), but the dipped beam reflector has been replaced by a H1 Bixenon Projector.

The logic of the bixenon projector, is that in dipped beam, it acts exactly the same as a standard H7, but when full beams are on, the projector flicks up to be "full beam" and the dipped beam remains on, hopefully that helps.

I'm getting close with the looms I think. I have also ordered the OEM LED number plate bulbs, I have had to purchase two because the cupra rear bumper has twin LEDs, wiring sorted for this aswell. Direct positive feed from T73b/7 instead of from T73a/45 (58d).

I will send a picture with all the finished parts when they are ready to make sure Tomorrow and Saturday will be fun

Final write up for the evening, I've been hard at work with the looms, and I believe I have everything I need, other than the J828 Relay.

I have labelled each wire set with an X1, X2, X3 etc... so I know the reference point for when I get to the car. There are many more than I originally expected, but I believe I've got everything now.

I'll be at the car from 08:00 sharp tomorrow morning, reading the BCM to get the long coding and CANBUS installation list ready for install. Any verification or insight anyone can give would be great.

I apologise for the length and frequency of the posts, I just hope this can help somebody else out someday who is mad enough to do this

One last thing, iichel or Ciclo, if I want to run my side lights as DRLs on the auto light switch, will this be possible with the BCM and setup I'll be installing? or will I have to repin the side lights to be on the DRL feed?

Its been a busy morning but the BCM is in!

Keys are mapped, long coding swapped over. installation list is matched.

Now only one issue. my version of VCDS doesnt have long coding helper for the 7E0 body control module. I've got as far as i can working off the 87D long coding helper, but there are obviously a lot of missing blocks. if anyone can send screenshots of the 7E0 blocks that would be amazing.

Currently only two fault codes to report in the BCM.

Only issue i see atm is that the side lights are on all the time when in auto mode. even with the key out and the car locked. any advice? im going to double check wiring anyway

And the auto lights don't seem to be working. it's not dark yet but I put the sensor in a box with the aim of it thinking it's dark, but could be down to the coding

Unfortunately the coding you provided didnt solve the auto light or the interior light issue

I just checked the auto lights feed (T17/12 - T73a/37) and with auto lights on, it is permanent 12V all the time

I don't i'm afraid, and because of the gateway I can't talk to it

I just plugged it in to try get a read and cannot communicate with it. however the auto lights (side lights on with key out) behaviour continued. could be a pinned wire to the BCM which shouldn't be there in 7L6?
