Some are for the original ABS unit and others for ABS units with more functions...
For example, the A and B 'in the image' are used on the MQB A0 platform in models with PLA units (7X5) where the wheel rotation direction is coded.
The interesting thing is that physically they all fit into the PQ25/PQ26... but not electronically...

"In this case" ETKA doesn't list the PR codes for each "index" but it clearly warns you that they can only be replaced with the original part numbers 'installed on the vehicle'. Really?

POLO 6R. PDC sensors renewal. Preparation.

For over a year, I've been enjoying the 5Q0 radars for the lane change system. In my case, they work like a charm with the Golf VII's parameters/DS.

In the near future, I'll be installing the 2Q0 radars (5Q0 evolution), which, as you know, I had ready once I finished installing the 5Q0 radars.

This involves removing the rear bumper, and it's at this point that I'll renew the PDC sensors.

Initially, it seems that there are infinite compatibilities for the part numbers used by VW for PDC sensors, but based on my experience, I don't think this is the case. PDC sensors do not function the same depending on the PDC unit installed and Dataset used.

Since I don't know the part numbers for the factory-installed rear PDC sensors on my 6R (May 2012), I'm going to replace both the rear and front PDC sensors with the correct and updated part numbers that are fully compatible with the installed PDC unit (plus dataset).

After a very thorough study, the correct part number is 1S0919275C.
Depending on the DS used, 5Q0919275B is also possible, which is mostly used on the MQB platform, and to a lesser extent on the PQ platforms. I will also test them, but that will be later because the sensor supports have to be changed.

I liked them especially for the aesthetic result when I installed them on our Golf 7.5, so I reordered them for our 6R from Ali. Affordable for everyone, 0,...

The functionality... well, it depends more on the weather conditions where the vehicle is located. In many places, they're not necessary.
If you were born in a 'privileged place' and get a new car every 6 months, 1, 2, or 3 years, don't waste your time with this; this is only for enthusiasts...

POLO 6R. New project. 12K PDC. OPS 360º.

First steps:
-A new 12K PLA PDC unit for PQ platforms is required.

-It must have 1K8919475(X) firmware, or also a 5Q0 MQB converted to a 1K8 PQ, as they share the same hardware (H11 or H12 are suitable).

-If purchased secondhand, as in my case, 5Q0 units are usually cheaper, half the price (the final index, 'K', etc., doesn't matter).

-For Discover Media, the FW indicated is 1K8 ...D, for RNS510, the firmware indicated is 1K8 ...E, according to the PR codes in ETKA.
This is relative since there may be clarifications (it depends on the equipment already installed -Instrument Cluster FW-).

How to convert a 5Q0 MQB to a 1K8 PQ.

...once we have the correct 12K PDC unit for PQ, with the appropriate Dataset (for a vehicle without EPB), the Coding, and the Adaptations that fit my 6R, I go to the car to test it...

And most interestingly, the diagnosis with the logic faults due to the lack of installation of the 4 side PDC sensors and the PLA button, ...and the same priority 6 fault that we had with the 8K 1K8 PDC unit, which we also assume does not affect (NP/NA) for 12K.

At the moment, no other faults related to the Instrument Cluster, ABS/ESP unit, or Steering Assist unit.
BSD/RTA continue to work just like before (tested).

Installing the four side PDC sensors has an obvious solution; it's the fun part of this new project, which I'll be working on slowly over the next few weeks or months...

It's possible to install the PLA button, but on my 6R, this doesn't make sense at the moment, so I'm opting for a simple solution to avoid the diagnostic fault...

Well, at the moment, only tested on the test bench, however, this 1N4007 diode has some very good characteristics, and everything should work correctly once installed. You can also install the PLA button and hide it somewhere behind the trims in case in the future you upgrade your ABS-ESP pump, and Steering unit.

Initially, I'm going to keep the 1S0919275C PDC sensors for the eight front and rear PDC sensors, but I might swap them for the 5Q0919275B PDC sensors (I like to test ).

I couldn't find rear brackets/supports/holders for rear PDC sensors at a reasonable price, but by using my 3D imagination , I bought four front ones and notched two of them to make them compatible with the rear PDC sensors... swap them from one side to the other, that is, the front left will serve as the rear right.

If necessary, I will implement the fixing of the brackets this time with less domestic tools than when I installed PLA 3.0 on our Golf 7.5.

I've looked at a lot of VW models and there's no predefined pattern, so the Golf will serve as a reference... the area/arch where the side PDC sensors are installed is wider on the 6R... "happy as a clam".

It's not perfect, but they look reasonably good.

With my exceptional imagination , I measured the microns each layer needs to be... according to VW's PDFs for painting these parts, ...in other words, I measured each layer just like the best painters on the planet do when they do this work (not factory). I guess I'll have to measure the total layer with some device once they are dry...

The weather conditions aren't conducive right now. Working with the lighting of the sun is fantastic, but if it rains, it's not so much... The weather is expected to be more favorable by mid- or late-week, and since I'm not in a hurry with this project, I have more time to think about this installation/project.

Initially, I'd like to be able to install the front side PDC sensors without removing the front bumper, as I'll likely need to do so later to install all the 5Q0 PDC sensors. I'll remove the wheels, wheel housing liners, and the upper front grille from the front bumper. I think this way I'll be able to install the front side PDC sensors and the corresponding wiring. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, or maybe with enough skill, I'll be able to do it.





As for the rear bumper, I have to remove it anyway to replace the 5Q0 radars with the 2Q0 ones for the LCA, so on this side I just have to consider the height where I will install the rear side PDC sensors. It will be between 50 and 55 cm (52.5 cm) from the ground, average height of the PDC sensors already installed in our Golf 7.5 (12K) and 6R (8K).



First, before removing the bumpers, I will partially remove the wheel housing liners to ensure and mark the exact locations for installing the side PDC sensors...and not drill the holes in some catastrophic place where there will be no room for the PDC mounts/holders/supports.

Friendly note:
-You'll never make an electric vehicle that pollutes less than my 6R over its entire life'cycle'. Time and other factors are on my side, YES or YES. There are even still places where electricity is generated with coal (caveman days yet!).
BTW, my 6R is close to achieving ABSOLUTE profitability (100,000 km) compared to a 'squid'-TDI vehicle.
