Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. 1 week to get it ready for MIVW
Awesome progress as usual bud that things going to be a missile!
Also just a heads up our Polo's have a power choke point probably somewhere around the power figures you're looking at with the new turbo and meth. This is due to the 60mm throttle body. There has been a tone of testing done on Vortex and the best size TB for this application is 70mm. It's a plug and play Bosch job from a Porsche but needs to be mapped in.
Also the OEM small port intake manifold is a crap design. The angle of the TB sweep causes the first runner to miss out on a heap of air flow. And the runner sizes in general are very restrictive compared to the AGU big port mani.
There is a new sweet as hell mani due soon from 034 Motorsport. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.p ... easer!-***
It flows about 40% better than our Eom small port and also has meth bungs. It's a large port so if you don't want to go to extent of pulling the head off an getting it port matched just grab a phenolic transition spacer (I run one of these thick little buggers and even after a hectic track session you can still grab the manifold and it's quite cool).
Hope this helps mate

Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. 1 week to get it ready for MIVW
Next update.
Ok so turbo didn't arrive as it should have on Friday but has arrived this morning.
That has set me back a bit so I have now booked the week off work as I am determined to drive my car to MIVW.
Last night I fitted a new water bottle and refitted the Intercooler.
After this post I'll be off to test fit the turbo and make sure it fits in its home as I have panicked myself into thinking it may not fit.
Bill said he can get me in on Wednesday for map tweak so just need to make sure it's all done and ready by then.
Here are some pics of the new turbo.

New water bottle
Due to turbo arriving a day late I will have to wait till Monday before I can have the oil feed and the water feed to the block made then it's work away till it's all done.

Which Porsche do you get the throttle body from?
Do you have a part number?
Also what is the choke point? How much BHP/Torque?
Looked at the manifold issue a few times but really like what is see in that link. Please keep me posted when the group buy is going ahead. I'll Defo take one.
I already run a 10mm phelonic gasket and agree with the temps re the inlet.
Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. 1 week to get it ready for MIVW
I can now confirm the turbo fits in its home so once the oil feed and water feed have been made on Monday its game on.
Hopefully it will all go to plan and I can make MIVW.
Couple of pics mocking up the turbo.
Tomorrow I need to fettle the holes on the down pipe as there is some interference getting the down pipe over the 3 studs on the turbo then all should be ready for Monday's work.

Today has been a good day.
Got the lines sorted and got the car back together. Didn't get many pics as I was busy working. Tomorrow is test drive time.
Oil feed and return

Ok today was another good day. Went to Badger 5 to tweak the map but before we started I replaced the MAF sensor as mine was starting to read a little low. Also changed my air filter.

Also done a small vid of the final dyno 320 BHP from less boost to the previous turbo. Still some left it there too as TD recommend no more than 28-30 PSI
