I took pics before I did but not during. Was going but got to involved doing it.
All I did was on the front two cut down the thread so it only had two or three threads (if you understand me). The pic below was before I cut it, so I cut off approx 15 threads.

On the rear they were slightly higher
, so I had to cut off all the thread (a couple of mm below it). The I used a drop of Araldite to secure it in place.
Nice easy job just cut away 2/3 threads at a time then test with door pin to get the perfect height.
Some people have took the door cards off and altered the pin at the bottom but I think this is a lot easier, especially the fronts.

Finally got my 6N interior mirror to replace the horrid beige look! Bit pointless listing this as most people have done it, or can guess how it will look but decided I was going to list every mod!
You all know, but this is how the old mirror stood out

And this more discrete black mirror

The 6N mirror is slightly different shape and a tiny bit shorter but the arm is about double in length so the mirror is a bit further from the glass.

It's simple mate,3LL1077 wrote:I really want to do this.
I just dont get how
Did you get any pics while you were doing it Howard?
I just cant get my head around what you have to do
Look at the above pic that Howard has posted of the exposed metal rod.
Just get some pliers and cut that off, then put the pins back on, done job.
It is a good idea however to measure the length you need to cut though.
