I looked after mine and it had 2 boxes in its lifetime.

with that ammount of miles any cars going to be a little bit rough round the edges, but it had carachter and ran sweet as a nut all the time that I had it.

146k I got rid of it on.

Yeah for sure.

The 9n3 is amazing would reccomend to anyone, dont mod the 6n2 its just not worth it, sell it and put a deposit on a 9n3. if you want bang for your buck buy a 9n3. Turbo's are the way forward

I do like the 9N3's and they have massively grown on me in the last 6 months but I still prefer the styling on the 6N2.
I have no doubt that the 9N3 is the better car in most departments, its just the 6N2 looks so darn good :)

Awesome tuning options on the 9N3 though and there is a good chance I will own one some day haha

I like the 9n but its the size of a bus!

I like small hatch's but they don't make them anymore.

Kam Racing have produced a 4-1 Manifold for the Lupo GTI which has had some awesome figures on the dyno, I have contacted them to see if it will fit the Polo and/or can they make or modify it to fit the Polo. On the Dyno with a 200 cell sports cat it produced a 10bhp gain which I thought was pretty impressive.

They also supply it with a 100 cell sports cat or a straight De-Cat pipe, so essentially it could produce even more power.

The Raceland Manifold doesnt seem to give any noticeable gains from what I have seen, its not much better than the standard manifold.
4-1 is always going to be better than 4-2-1 though 8) The Kam racing manifold will be £400 minimum which is the downside

160bhp from the GTI wont be hard to achieve but when your looking for 170 or 180 then you will need different throttle bodies, improved fueling system, Racing ECU, Forged Pistons etc etc.

Be a beast though if you stripped it out bare too, loose around 80-90KG's and the power to weight ratio would be awesome!

Ben,
Funny you say that as I've contacted them about that manifold too...

My only worry with these cars is the gearbox...

If you sort out the nylon 5th gear bearing, and replace the diff through bolts, its a solid box for 250bhp plus

Really???

As in change the rivets for nice high tensile bolts and they are good for 250bhp? You surely lies Mr Perkins?

Wait wait wait... So your telling me that the rally box on the super 1600 Polo Rally car was exactly the same as a normal Polo GTi gearbox apart from the Diff had bolts instead of rivets and a metal 5th idler bearing instead of plastic?

I mean, same internals, diff, beraings, seals, casings etc etc?

Best to wait until the box goes bang, then get it refurbed/modified then :)
