So not the greatest day with the Gti, in fact pretty awful.

Decided to change all my head light bulbs, so bumper off job. First headlight everything went smooth and easy. The second one the main connector wasen't budging so after abit of gentle persuasion part of the headlight plastic inside snaps off and now the headlight is all wobbly ( dont think the adjusters have broken ?)

This is the thrid time this has happend on the previous GTIs

What im worried about is if i can no longer adjust my headlights now im running coilies and they will almost certainly be pointing at the floor.... any ideas on where i can go from here

Heres a pic of the piece that snapped? any ideas on what part it is?

I then Vagcommed the car to find out why one of my keys which i just changed the battery in wasen't working properly...

here's what i got:
1 Fault Found:

00956 - Key 2

09-10 - Adaptation Limit Surpassed - Intermittent

What ze hell?

Hopefully will be able to drive the blighter tommorow- if these tyres ever arrive..

Oh dear...youve snapped the adjuster mount. Youll need to replace it from a halogen headlight from a scrappy or similar

Unscrew the broken one screw in the ok one - easy as that. Its a headlight off job though.

I mean remove the headlight from the car and take the back covers off and you can see the adjustment motor then

Think i follow ya Alex, so the plastic bit in the picture is the bottom of where the balljoint locking into ( the balljoint which the auto adjuster motor is linked to)?
