Homelink via the Sedan rear sunblind button
The button... 3G0927238K
wired it directly to the homelink 'brain', all three buttons switch to GND and i added three wires to that. currently using only one though.
And does it work? YEP

Re: iichels VW Passat 2.0 TSI DSG 4-Motion 2017
I noticed that my previous post was perhaps a bit out of context since I never posted my Homelink installation in the first place.
Parts:
4B0971978B 6 pin homelink (pin MQS)
8E0971934 4 pin homelink (pin MQS isolated)
8E0907179 bracket for antenna
8E0909511 antenna
8N0959719 button module
The wiring is very easy. From the car you just need a GND, an ignition live (terminal 15) and one wire between the buttons and the antenna.
I placed the antenna on the battery bracket in the engine bay, since my battery lives in the boot, and the buttons in the little box below the light switch. Just run the wires as in the scheme. I added the ignition live to the buttons as a 'terminal 58d' so the lights will always be illuminated.
Now you have it all installed, you need to learn your garage remote to the homelink system. Check out the instructions, in German (super sorry).
Next up is the wiring to the button in center console. I took buttons 3G0927238K, that only have the rollo and nothing else. If you don't have the buttons yet, you need the connector too. T10ai = 6R0972930A. You can take the illumination signal and GND signals from the left side buttons.
The problem is, the Homelink switches connect to GND, and the wiring in the center console send out a 12V signal instead of GND. So, to fix this, replace pin 10, the common input, from a positive 12V to a GND.
Alternatively, if you do need the positive input/output, like when you have steering wheel heating already there, you can decide to keep the 12V output and use a relay to convert it to a GND.
The signal wire that comes out is now connected to the button module, specifically to the button switches.
Now if you press the rollo button, it sends a signal to the homelink button module, as if the actual button was pressed, and hey presto.
Alternatively you can buy the enhanced rear view mirror from VW USA with internal compass and homelink sender at part number 000 072 548A. I decided not to do this since it was about 300 euros AND it doesn't support the dimming exterior mirror.

Yeah it's a real charm to drive. So much power, but so calm and reserved when you're not using it.

And at the same time, also did the 230V in the boot. Not a factory option in the Passat but it is in the Golf 7.
OEM (back of armrest):
Parts:
socket 5G9867864
inverter 5N0907155 (from tiguan PQ35, yes)
3-pin connector 1J0972753
For the 5N0 inverter it's not via a LIN connection, but a +15 will do.

Re: iichels VW Passat 2.0 TSI DSG 4-Motion 2017
Upgraded the front assist camera, behind the rear view mirror, from 3Q0 to 2Q0 to gain some functions like travel assist.
The old camera was working well with all the three-letter acronyms like HBA, DLA, LA (crap that's two), VZE, TJA, pACC etc.
What I didn't like about the old camera was its ability to hold the lines. It was a bit sluggish. The new camera should be a small improvement.
Overall pretty happy with the swap, installation was easy!
Many thanks to Slavik for aiding in installation, CP removal and initial calibration.

Fitted an Eibach kit E10-85-042-04-22
Also fitted new top end bearings to the front struts, and new coupling rods front and back.
I bought the springs from the guy on the right (B8 bi-tdi), on the left is my car before springs were fitted

Before:
After:
Original VW T-Roc R wheels 'Estoril' 19x8J ET44 - 2GA601025AQ
These wheels also come on Golf mk8R in ET50, but ET44 is perfect for Passat B8
The Verona wheels will probably serve as winter wheels.

These new alloys are "CLASS"
I think these also come in 18" for T-roc.

I've only seen 18" Estoril rims in non-OEM versions. Would be nice. 19 is quite large.
The new rims now also have new tires: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 235/40 R19 96Y
Proper race car needs proper race tires of course, lol.

Love the michelin tyres They are expensive but worth it in my opinion. Michelin Primary 4 on cards for my roc
I am curious to know how much these 19" Michelin tyres costed you.

I paid 192 euros a tire, it was a temporary offer. Now they're 300 euros a piece incl fitting.
