Footwell lights

The reason for this was a discussion in Patil's thread about rear door warning lamps, to whom I thank as well as Fernando.
https://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?p=605839#p605839

I used to have an AUDI A4 where the passenger footlights came on separately depending on which door was open, instead of all coming on at the same time, regardless of which door was opened.
In my current car, a SKODA OCTAVIA, on the MQB EVO platform, there is no lighting at all at the feet of the passengers, it was in a more expensive package with a choice of colors, etc. which my car does not have.
So I'm thinking of programming 4 pins (there are) to each respond to the opening of a specific door and run wires to the passenger footwell near the corresponding door. This is a screenshot of the possible options, as you can see there are for rear doors (Hinten) as well as front doors (Vorne)

I have to find time to test it of course.🤞

Ok, yesterday i did tests for the doors exit lights.

It works for the front doors, but unfortunately, not for the rear doors. I did all the combinations, nothing worked for the rear doors.

This is a printscreen of my scan log for this car.

I am thinking to retrofit Lane Change Assict.

My car is based on the MQB Evo platform.

According to ETKA the control units are 2Q0907685G and 2Q0907686G

The is also another page

Is there a real difference between Lane Change Assist and Blind Spot Detection ?

I read Fernando's thread about installing and programming the Lane Change Assist with success.
My knowledge is not enough to start such an effort, so I am at the stage where I want to gather information.

The biggest issue right now is to find those radars at a decent price.
I read Fernando, bought some Chinese radars with 2QD code and updated the with 2Q0 software !
Is this something that can be done in my case?
Can anyone help? I have ODIS E and S.
Also, will I be able to find the set of parameters for my car?

There are so many other things i have to deal with them (for examble the mirror warning LEDs) but as i said right now this is the biggest issue.

Lane change assist and Blindspot monitoring both mean the same.

For MQBevo platform, you will need 2Q0 907 686D/685D or higher version radars to work. But from 2Q0 "D" and higher version radars have component protection and SFD(diagnostic firewall)
After the physical installation of radars, to code/dataset upload/ adaptations changes.. you'll need SFD tokens to access the involved control units( I guess around 6-8 units) to make necessary changes!
It's a hassle but not impossible, if you have lots of Vitamin M and C (M = €€€, C = Contacts) 😁

Thanks for answering.
I am familiar with the SFD protection.
I have ODBeleven with the PRO pack, which allows me to bypass SFD protection, so this in not a problem.
Money is never enough. The truth is that the car is on lease and I will have it for another 3 years.
Contacts.................... i have this forum. I hope for your help.

Taking into account everything that Patil has explained to you perfectly (remove CP-online connection + SFD coding, etc) I have some brand NEW 2Q0 H radars (unused).

111 euros for both (686H+685H) with shipping included.
Payment by Paypal.

I will take photos of them to post here in case you are interested... ?

Wow, thanks for your offer Fernando. It seems to solve one of my problems for that project. 😍 Great news. 🎉
I am still have some issues to deal with:
Parameters for my car. Is this something that can be solved with the online connection ?
Let's say that i make a online connection using GEKO account. What are the things i have to do ?
1. Remove CP from the new units (coupling them to my car).
2. Create Basic setting
3. Insert the correct set of parameters.

Can all this be done at the same time with the online connection?

Or do I have to find the right set of parameters and then "import" them into those units?

Please give me some days to gather those information in order to search for solutions. Then i will respond positively to your kind offer. ! 🤝
If you know anything about please help me. 🙏

I have sent you the images of the 2Q0 H radars by private message to your inbox.

Regarding the online connection with a GEKO account from third parties, currently everything depends on how and with whom you make the connection. 'Lately' these connections are NOT 'stable'. They may work perfectly but there are also other options.

To remove CP is not usually problematic, and it is a quick task, but it is an absolutely necessary previous step to then unlock the SFD to be able to code, flash or parameterize.
I suppose that once the SFD is unlocked, you can code or load the parameters/dataset with the appropriate tools, I have no experience with the MQB Evo platform, you know more than me about it because of the SFD unlocks that OBD11 allows you to do.

We will look for the valid parameters for your Octavia, I do not think it will be a difficult task, either they will be available somewhere for free or you will have to pay a small fee for them. As Patil told you, 'nowadays' you have to pay for everything due to the security measures implemented by VW, so whenever possible it is better to code or load the parameters into the units yourself without the help of an online connection.

If you are going to have your Octavia for 3 more years, I definitely recommend you to buy the 'NEW' VAS 6154A (Ali) and install the ODIS S 23 and ODIS E 17 versions on your laptop. These VAS 6154A can work with other super recent ODIS versions since they work with the original drivers.
Small but great investment that will make your life easier during these 3 years.

It might be useful for you:
 https://www.drive2.ru/l/687276407172112599/
In addition to the online connection (odis), he uses a tool similar to VCP for what we have already mentioned (parameters, etc), although finally Dima (this name sounds a lot on Drive2.ru) loads other parameters.

Note:
My 2Q0 H radars include the H firmware flashing files, but not those that are available on the Internet for everyone🤭, but the real and necessary ones (with bootloader).
Useful in case of doing improper magic.😁

By the way, do you have the wiring diagrams for Lane Change on your Octavia? Please post the wiring schematics here, I'm finding this topic most interesting and entertaining.
Now the newer radars work with positive signal '+30' instead of '+15' (it seems obvious that it is for the warning function when opening the door), and on the other hand I have seen in the Golf 8 wiring diagrams and other models that the BSD warning lights with these new radars can work either by LIN (3 wires), or by the signal received from the radar as it was until now (2 wires).

Thank you Fernando for your interest.
You give me hope that i will find the way to complete my retrofit.

I have already read that tread at drive2.ru

Is it a really really interesting tread, with a lot of information and it is exactly what i want to do.
I contacted this guy and he was kind enough to answer a few of my questions. But not all of them .

Well this is the schematic from my car.

If the images are not as clear as you want, I can send you the PDF.
As I wrote, the radars for my car should be 2Q0907686G, so should the wiring schematic. I don't know anything about the 3rd wire (Lin) you mentioned.

Thanks for showing us the diagrams.👍

According to ETKA dates, the radars indicated for your HepTavia should be 2Q0 G or H.
2Q0 H radars are the latest version used for VW, SK, SE, etc. Golf, T-Roc, Polo, Octavia, Arona, Ibiza...etc.

With VW it is always better to have the firmware updated -as you may have read in the thread on drive2.ru-, the VW 'Oompa-Loompas' keep making the same mistakes 'as always'.
Maybe it is done on purpose, to generate more income with the connections to VW servers that their clients/customers make. The connections with the VW servers are also catastrophic, so it is assumed that the connection software is also touched by the intelligence of their 'Oompa-Loompas'.
I can assure you 'with absolute certainty' that VW servers have major management errors due to the application of the new 'security rules', and VW customers are losing their money and "their software".

...people never forget how you made them feel...

BSD warning lights connection by LIN (3 wires):

Image

Image

For now, with LIN will allow the BSD warning lights LEDs to make magic stupid patterns when they turn on/off instead of a primitive/normal but very effective on/off, sounds for blind drivers 🍻💊😁, or info from driving assistants on those giant screens on dashboards that will in no way distract you while driving.📺😁
In my humble opinion and experience, they forget to make it possible to choose the emission color of the LEDs for all types of scenarios. 🔴🟢🔵😶
