On my 6R R-line, I finally installed the original 1JS springs on the rear axle, but the shock absorbers are the factory ones, which are standard suspension because I didn't choose the R-line suspension package for the rear. From the factory, only the front shock absorbers were sport suspension (R-line).

I've checked the rear shock absorbers countless times for possible leaks, but after almost 14 years and 100,000 km (OMG!), they're still supposedly in good condition. 🤷‍♂️
This combination seemed pleasant enough for a comfortable and fun rear suspension for the kind of driving you and I know...

When replacing parts in the suspension, you have to wait a few kilometers/time (2,000 km) to make a true judgment of how it behaves.

On the other hand, in my short experience with suspensions, I can only say that genuine VW parts are never the same as aftermarket parts.
The setup achieved with genuine VW parts is always better defined, which isn't to say it's better, just that it's easier to understand when a suspension is more comfortable or sportier.

The front suspension always seemed good to me for almost all types of roads, except for the speed bumps that are so common in cities these days. Now, since I installed the DCC electronic suspension in the Golf, I now find the 6R R-Line's front suspension a bit stiff for city driving.

Thank you for your feedback Ciclo.

Yeah, as spring (OEM vs VW), they are not all the same, even if they are lister as an equivalent...

I placer an order for the classic 6C0513025AH (Sachs 317 336) but I don't know what to do know.
The price of one 6C0513025AH is the price of both 317 336... (around 230 euros for both shock absorber).

Hi, Ive found my combination of Sachs 317 357 and SUPLEX 39445 with bumpstop ( 6Q0512131C) as comfortable as the original standard rear shock and spring.

Hi, My shock and rear spring pretty much settle from first install, I did prefer the standard load for tyre pressure for my car 36psi at the back but with original I prefer the comfort pressure of 32psi with same tyres.
