Golf 7.5 Parallel parking. Test. Park Assist feature with RVC Highline vs Park Steering Assist -PLA-

I took this video for reasons unrelated to parking, but I thought it was a good idea to post it as it will be useful in the future.
I bought my current RVC Highline (KA2) already calibrated, but this calibration isn't perfect for 'my' Golf 7.5. It's okay, but it's not perfect (IMO).

In the future (after the summer) I am going to recalibrate both the 6C and A5 with ODIS... in the meantime, I am thinking of making some improvements to the VAS 6350 dot panel that I bought on Ali for 6C calibration. For A5 it will be the Dynamic calibration.

It was out of sheer curiosity because I'll be taking this measurement again on our Golf 7.5 when I begin the Calibration with the VAS 6350 dot panel.

'Predictive' calculations (assumptions) of Dimension 'A' for RVC Highline Calibration.

For reasons unknown to me, if my RVC Highline has uploaded the Golf 7 Parameters/Dataset, ODIS does not allow me the calibration process

, but the Basic Setting fault would be present in such a case... (HW incompatibility? or who knows... even datasets are sometimes shared without proper specifications due to reduce the file name).

Golf 7 vs Passat B8.

So I 'assume' that if I have an RVC Highline with Passat B8 Parameters/Dataset installed in a Golf 7/7.5 and I place the VAS6350 dot panel at a distance of 1900 mm, which is within the allowed range according to erWin (1400 to 2000 mm), I have to subtract 334 mm to enter 1556 mm as Dimension 'A' (also allowed range according to erWin). I 'suppose' this way I will achieve a correct RVC calibration for my Golf.

I will test the two dimensions - 1900 vs 1556 mm -.

UPD: Well, I have read other calibrations for Golf 7.5 and this RVC model, and it seems that the best way to calibrate this camera model with Passat B8 parameters is to Identify the vehicle in ODIS 'manually' as Passat B8, the difference (334) should be added to the real distance from the rear axle (G7.5) to the VAS6350 dot panel (Dimension A).

RVC Highline Calibration Instructions are in the previous post.

I've already located a couple of outdoor locations where the surface is completely flat and the conditions are ideal for RVC Calibration process. All I need is a cloudy day so that the sun's rays don't shine directly on the VAS6350 calibration panel.
It's highly likely that these '6C' RVCs only 'see' the grayscale for calibration, just like the 'A5' driver assistance cameras... that's why I wanted to do the calibration process after the summer. Damn sun...

Preparing the Calibration of my 3 RVCs Highline.

How to identify your vehicle in ODIS as a Passat B8 (sedan or wagon).

I received the package with the VAS6350 dot panel perfectly folded. To try to remove the wrinkles, I wrapped it around a broomstick and left it on the clothesline for a couple of weeks at 30-40ºC.

It's not miraculous, but it works 80% without making any special effort. Enough for me.

I don't know if the device called a clothes iron would work. I suppose this 'plastic' panel would burn on the first try.

...and other minor things.

Is the shortest distance between two points a straight line? Is a straight line an infinite circumference? If I go to the gym a couple of weeks after summer vacation, can I also become a superhero?

Tailgate panels/trims/mouldings removed. Current RVC Highline.

Testing one of my other two RVCs Highline for reasons unrelated to calibration.

During the calibration process, I transferred a new dataset from the Passat B8 'Wagon/Estate/Variant' to the RVC Highline with 4M0 HW for experimental reasons. The calibration went just as well as with the 'Sedan' dataset.
This is the RVC Highline that I will probably install in my 6R, it is already removed from our Golf 7.5 where the recalibrated RVC Highline is already installed.

The other 2:

All three look great, but the best is the Converted.

Highlights, images:

Warning:
- I'm not a photography expert, so the angles used with the smartphone camera for taking pictures aren't perfect.

- Sharpness. When taking pictures from a close-up screen, distortions occur. The images transmitted by the RVC lens to the HMI screen are good in real life for safe driving, although they can certainly be improved.

Those two white lines coincidentally were already there.

ODIS calibration completed.

My calibration panel is wider on one side outside the calibration pattern, but what matters is the calibration pattern.

Golf 7.5. More images of the RVC Highline calibration process (what if...).

Since I didn't install the tailgate trims, and for personal experimental and/or learning reasons (what if...), the next day I reinstalled the Calibration Panel VAS6350 (15 min) to modify some calibration conditions and see the results.

New cordless vacuum cleaner.

I finally bought a cordless vacuum cleaner that works! Ali. No brand.

It's powerful enough for decent vacuuming, but the batteries don't last long -about 10 to 15 minutes-.
I attached a hose with a blue adapter from other vacuum cleaners to make this arduous task easier.

With the best lighting (FREE sunlight) and good weather, I test the new vacuum cleaner.

It's not as powerful as the corded Dyson vacuum, but it's as powerful as a regular corded Bosch vacuum I used for these tasks.
I used four 6Ah batteries for the results of the previous images, including the trunk area.

New car!

Satisfied with the result, I did the same on my 6R.

Golf 7.5 Info about flip rear emblem swap.

The emblem with axle structure (2020-->) for G8, etc... does not look good on the Golf 7.5 tailgate due to the horizontal rib.

Unfortunately, I had to return it because it was damaged, with swirls and small scratches. It seems that being meticulous is only for a select few on this planet.

In the unfortunate place where I was born, there's a saying that goes:
" Honey is not made for a pig's mouth "

...I reordered two of these special 2020--> VW emblems for the Golf 7.5 tailgate with that horizontal rib. One arrived perfect, but the other had minor damage... so I'm going to try to improve the damaged one.
1st steps:

Delicate work that will take a couple of weeks. Step by step, layer by layer with a long curing period between layers, we want it to last a long time...
If I can get the last layers of clear lacquer to shine like a diamond once polished, I'll install this special VW emblem on my 'converted' RVC Highline, which in addition to working perfectly (better than the originals) will have a nice unique-exceptional appearance.

The Aliexpress store for these special emblems no longer exists...

The worst part is over, the paint adherence is very good (VW Original), now it's time to put some tape on the fixing points and decide which will be the final colors.
