If you're talking about what I think you're talking about... In my opinion, using red tape around the grille looks much neater and much more OEM. I think the red tape stands out a lot brighter too as the red beading inserted between the grille tends to fade quickly.

That's red detailing tape which was on it when I bought it, looked quite bright

I took it off but I've still got a roll of it which was in the glovebox if anyone wants it? Lol

The original model was mounted on the 2001 series.
I was lucky to find it in excellent condition and complete with all in Germany,
try searching there are different
but you must be sure it is complete unlock code and CDs with maps,
the guy who sold it to me made a copy of the maps for Italy.

It is not difficult as work,
just find a good and patient electronic
you just transfer the transponder and connect the wires of the 2 buttons,
and then to cut the key.

Quite a useful guide. I know it's for Lupos, but the polos done the same way, the link above just included more info and photos which always help
