Friends,
Does the AFS module do the range adjustment only during starting the car, or does it keep dynamically adjusting the lights up/down even when the car is moving, like while climbing up or down a slope? Also, does it also adjust the light range according to speed of the car (closer at lower speeds, and longer at higher speeds)?

it adjusts the range of the headlights, according to the height of the rear axle with respect to the bottom of the vehicle.
it assumes that the load (static weight and dynamic torque) at the front axle are constant and the height is not subject to change.
if the rear goes up, the angle of the vehicle changes, headlights are aimed up
if the rear goes down, the angle of the vehicle changes, headlights are aimed down.
it does not correct for being on a slope. as far as the AFS module is concerned, you could be upside down too it only monitors rear axle height

iichel, it is not fully correct. According the info of the Polo Sedans with bixenon and AFS. There are two types of the AFS modules. For cars with ESP and simple ABS there is different EEPROM preset and coding also. And Polo sedan 2016 owner wrote his car has ESP and he noticed dynamic headlights range changing, not only by rear axle height .

Ah thank you Firegrafik. I was not aware of this.

Thanks iichel and Firegrafik for the information.'
Firegrafik, do you have any information on the AFS module that does dynamic leveling as well like part number etc.?

6R0 907 357 C Z0A for ESP system
Coding on Polo Sedans: 0D 4A 00 00 01 00 00 00
6R0 907 357 C Z0D for ABS system
Coding on Polo Sedans: 0D 4B 00 00 01 00 00 00
The suffix Z0A or Z0D defines the EEPROM preset of the software for the car model and stabilize system presence.
If the car has ESP, AFS unit reads ESP sensors what helps in dynamic range control.
But the important thing is these control units work well with new type of rear axle sensor, which works on 800MHz (old type sensors works on 200MHz)
On Polo Sedans such sensor has number: 6R0 512 521A
The there is report of the Polo Sedan owner who installed bixenon and AFS. https://www.drive2.ru/l/10464965/

Hah, I have this one, it works with my auto-leveling of headlights, but I can't set properly coding and I noteced that I don't have "travel lights" mode:
I found two used AFS modules withoud B and C reference:
1. 6R0 907 357 0070 H02
05.10.11
010 178-20 AC
0004 0484 HLR-0W5
2. 6R0 907 357 0070 H02
04.12.12
010 178-20 AD
0004 0401 HLR-0W5
Is there a difference between these references (AC vs. AD)?
I would like to be sure that I order a module that will fit to my 6R

Hi!
Can you or someone confirm that following missing parts are correct for my car and AFS:
Holder for rear axle sensor: 6R0 612 405 .... I have also seen 6Q0 612 405 ???
Bracket for levelling module: 6R0 971 845K
At the iichel´s topic part number for that bracket for AFS module is missing.
And if I search that bracket for axle sensor/brake line holder with number 6Q0 612 405, I receive different shape of bracket than it is seen on iichel´s installation topic?!?
Thanks in advance!

6Q0 is correct. 6R0 is probably a typo. Link to the topic?

Ok, thanks!
Do you know part number for that bracket/holder for that afs module?

Great, thanks ciclo!!
Do you know are those part numbers right for module bracket and bracket for rear axle sensor??
I found two different type of bracket for rear axle sensor / brake line in part number 6Q0 612 405....
Any idea or link where I can get that bracket at decent price / easily?

Can someone help with few things about that afs installation....
First, where that afs module should locate? I think it is somewhere behind the glovebox.... but wiring harness which I bought is too short if module is behind the glovebox?!? Or am I routing it wrongly... for example those two Can-wires can´t reach to BCM.... wires for headlight adapter are too short also... :/ Or am I missing something...
And next problem... how can I attach those wires to that T10-T14 headlight adaptor (4 wires to each headlight)?? I removed those seal plugs from connector, but can´t get install wires... is there some locking mechanism in the adapter or what?!?
