Re: The GTI! - Alex's Progress Thread NEW DAILY POLO PG49!!!
About time we had an Update!
Well, today I fitted the new H&R cup suspension and boy is it a dream to drive now!!
The old suspension had been refitted in a horrifying manor - namely the rear mounts were upside down and piled up rather than put in older, so the strut (unknown to me) was bouncing around like crazy!
As for the Mk3...well alot has been hapenning with it. I managed to fix the gearbox leak by replacing the selector seal - cheap and easy which is what i like. It also had a leaking rocker gasket, so that got replaced. Thermostat housing, the new senders, and the new hosing seems to be holding out and at last the car isnt overheating, thanks to the new fan switch in the radiator - seeems the whole coolant system was shot!
Its looking pretty sweet now - clear side repeaters, BBS CC (Interlagos) alloys, red strips in the bumpers, new tax disc holder - all the little bits that are needed to make it look sweet
I spend a good 8-9 hours cutting, polishing and waxing it the other day, but havent yet been able to get out and take any photos....but rest assured some are coming later this week!!
