The years free insurance - can you protect your no claims bonus on the policy?
It said it would take 4 weeks to build from my build week confirmation...I believe it took 2 weeks though.

I'm not sure about protecting the no claims bonuses, I might actually have to chase that up with them :?:

It's around 4 weeks for delivery to dealer from the build week. However, I am in the North of Scotland so it may take longer than yours.

Almost run mine in now, no problems to report so far.

I've noticed that when you turn the engine off what sounds like a whirring noise behind the centre of the dashboard keeps running for a while. It's not any of the main cooling fans at the front of the engine bay. It sounds like it's coming from the turbo area at the back of the engine. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm guessing it's noise from an electric oil pump to cool the turbo down?

Yep, I've got the exact same noise from the same place. I've noticed that if you get out of the car and go into the house you can't hear it any more

Bloddy hell someone dinged and scratched my little Polo  Most likely hit by a door, but it was hit hard! scratched to the metal plus a little ding...

I leave it in the street for one f***ing night!!

I have insurance against acts of vandalism, I'll see if it's worth it to activate.

Ruined my day

Apart from that, reached 2000km today :D
Really gave it the beans these past few days, the XDS differencial works wonders in some corkscrew uphill corners I know.

In terms of running in, whats everyone doing? You read so many mixed thoughts on how cars should be run in these days, and even some who suggest there is no need. I'll be honest…Saturday…I went straight out and got a feel for it, limited redline moments but definitely run it at 80%

In regards to that noise…I hear it also…I thought it might be the computer as it pops up with that phone reminded…however, tonight, it does sound more than that. I reckon the fact we all can hear it means it's nowt to worry about.

running in for me is waiting until the oil is up to temp and give it beans in a few different gears.

Yeah I always wait for oil temp…I had a good run home tonight getting 44mpg…noticed not to take note of the gear shift indicator as 6th gear at 50mpg proved less economical. Either way…I'm happy with mpg in the 40's :D

To be fair…I used to drive my Abarth like hell daily…as it just wasn't comfortable EVER…whereas the Polo is comfortable and I feel I can cruise in it more…open it up from time to time. Looking forward to the autobahn next month :D !!!

Got my build date the other day for 27th July after ordering on 19th May. Hopefully have it by the start of September, which is quite good seeing as I was originally quoted November at earliest! :D

Gutted, my dealer have advised me my car has been delayed AGAIN so now gone from original estimate build week 26 (this week) to build week 36. Not a happy bunny, looks like its going to be mid-late September for a car I ordered in April.
