Interesting!
Still waiting for mine, absolute joke still no information from Volkswagen or anything to help me out or make it seem as though they are bothered by how long i've been waiting.
Ordered in April and still don't have a confirmed build week, estimate is still week 36 to be built then another 4 weeks or so for delivery, absolute madness!

It would be interesting to know the average waiting time to get a gti, and which is the better route to go down, dealer or broker.
I ordered mine in early May, and picking up this friday. 10 weeks in total.
From reading others on here, i feel very lucky!

Someone at vw told me but it could just be a rumour at the time. Certainly not going to name anyone.

Without doubt you should have had your car weeks ago. Whatever the reason it has to be a cock up of some description. Either at the dealer end and they are covering their arses or at factory hq.

Yes. Like it very much. An improvement on the previous model. Get plenty of nice comments from people who see me pull up in it.
The 'burble pops" as I call them on gear change especially sport mode get people looking. I love the exhaust sound.
Only issue so far has been a software update for the multimedia system, as I was getting a static like click at times through the speakers when using various function buttons. Was told the software was wrong for my model.
Love the pano roof too.
So worth the wait but you've definitely waited too long!

Tell them to stuff it and go and get one off a forecourt ready to go! Maybe.

Depends on the circumstances, but you would have a reasonable argument. In my experience, dealers will go out of their way to keep you happy but in cancelling an order that attitude might change.
I ordered in the first week of April and had my build week confirmed last week (week 36). Was hoping it would come forward but has now sadly been confirmed. However, I have managed to get the dealer to agree to hold the price of my current polo (trade in) quoted at the time of order in April due to the delay. I will have put over 5,000 miles on it since then.

How did you check models that are already built/available?
Thanks

Saw the silk blue metallic one again yesterday in Stratford upon Avon, looked very smart as it drove by in the sunshine. Lady driver.
