Will Thule roof bars from a Mk V fit a Mk VI?

I currently have a 5dr Polo GTi and use a Thule roof bar system on it (no. 408 I believe) to carry bikes/snowboard etc. I've just ordered a new 5dr Polo TDi Sport. Can anybody confirm or deny whether my existing bars will fit the new car? I really don't want to spend another couple of hundred quid on new bars!

Cheers, Leon.

I hired some when I drove to Sweden in Febuary. I believe it's just the fitting kit that may differ and these aren't that expensive (saying that, I bet they aint cheap for what they are!!). I doubt you'll need new bars. But I'm only guessing :roll:

Further to Polo2k's post;

I've confimed that you need the following Thule parts to put roof bars on your 5 door Mk VI Polo;

Thule 'Rapid' System Adapter Kit (1262) £19.95
Thule 'Rapid' System Gutterless Feet Set (750) £39.95
Thule RS 120cm Bars (761) £20

You can use aluminium bars instead - they are part no. 861 and are £45

Prices are from http://www.roofbox.co.uk who I've used before and are very good.
