SQUEAKY BLOODY ENGINE

my 1.0l polo started to make a squeeking sound this afternoon but i dont think its the fan belt what else could it be
Is it constant or intermittent? Loud/quiet? If not the fanbelt could be alternator or cambelt making a racket? Or any number of things for that matter... do you know whereabouts in the engine bay the noise is coming from?
