New person here ... knocking noise on my polo sport

I'm new so not sure quite how you do a search for past topics, but would appreciate it if someone would tell.
Anyway, I've had a knocking noise coming from the front of my car, near to the wheels, which mainly happens when you're either going over a speed bump (hate them things!) or if you're going round a corner fast (which the polo sport can handle!).
Is it correct in that it might be the Bush's which are failing or coming loose?
Many thanks Bex

Hi there and welcome!
First off, what a Polo Sport? Don't think I've ever seen one, but then I'm in a different country than you are.
Ontopic:
My car knocks when I (accidentally) go through pot holes. It's my right driveshaft that hits the chassis or ARB I believe. If yours is not lowered, this won't be the case. It's more likely that indeed the bushes on the suspension arms have gone, or that the ARB itself has come loose (it happens), or that there is some other fault with the springs or struts themselves.
You can search for older threads using the 'search' button at the top op the screen, right under the UKP logo.

I haven't seen one either - could it be a MKV (6n2) - it's easy to get confused between the two........
MKIV (or 6n) 1995-2000 (ish)
MKV (or 6n2) 2000-2002 (ish)
Main differences are in the bumpers and grill area
The MKV has a higher waisted bumper ending under the headlights
The MKIV has a colour coded "fill in piece" that fills the gap
If none of the above helps - have a look in members rides to ensure it is a MKIV you have
PS I'm just down the road from you in Thetford

Here in Iceland the polo "sport" is a 1.4i 16V 6N 100,6hp The name is there because the car has the optional sunroof, front lip and skirts and whatnot

my polo is a "sport" version...
And another interesting thing about the VW importer here in Iceland... They made a deal with an icelandic bodykit shop called "Impetus" when that was going on you could buy an "Impetus" Polo... uuuu yeah!
"Impetus" sold a uniqe eyelid for the fronlights. I have never seen them, on any british polo... have you seen this before?

Hi,
Just so you know you are correct ... I posted under the wrong Mark car!
I've an 02, so does that make it a MarkV?

Have to say I love driving my car, tho my boyfriend loves it even more, as he drives a Bora, and my car goes around the corners somewhat better!
