i've just about had it... wanting to make the mk3 all proper and shiney again (disregarding the sore-thumb of a door) but its just not happening, not even slowly. can't for the life of me get this f***ing aerial sorted and i've just noticed that rust is again bubbling through on the arch where i fixed it before, which basically means "add another week" onto the fixing-up saga before i get to the T-cut-it-and-advertise-it stage (not even counting any engine work) - and possibly an extra can each of primer and topcoat if there's not enough left.
And there was me just this morning consdering getting a cheap dent-puller from machine mart when i go as well. T*ts to that.

thoroughly peed off now. was close to tears when i spotted those bubbles which were nice flat (if badly blended) paint less than a month ago.

help :(

part one was solved with a hot cup of very strong very sweet tea, rolling sleeves up and getting down to it with a committed "avit, you bstard"..... 15 minutes later and some pain... the old cable was freed of the wire tie.... another 5 and some wiggling and the whole caboodle came out and the string with it. another 20 and the aerial was sort-of in, after i'd managed to make the best of the old knackered seal/mounting knobule and the incorrectly-shaped new ones... a gentle 10 spent wrestling the new cable through the seals, firewalls, and foam tubing to finish with felt positively relaxing in comparison

:D

ah, closure

now to deal with all the other stuff - including getting the stereo back in for starters. it's all doable. just a pain in the ass and a slog that requires muchos boiled leaves to get the impetus up for
