number 1 is in carlisle on monday
number 2 is in bournemouth on tuesday i think
number 3 is in falmouth on wednesday
so thats 120 miles ish
then 350 miles ish
then 200 miles ish
then back 400 miles ish
(i'm in manc)
oh great
i'm not even sure my buggered polo will make it
how much is this going to cost me?
where am i going to stay?
why do these things always hit me last minute?

Stay at youth hostels, it costs barely anything, few quid a night.. particularly if you have some kind of student discount... I did this when I was going around uni open days, paid £3 / night in a couple of places with YHA membership + connexions student discount

It'll cost you about £100 in petrol assuming you're doing 40mpg.. rough estimate for you anyway.

Like Groovy says, about £100 in fuel plus the cost of accomodation/food?

3 options
www.laterooms.co.uk if you have some ready cash (say 25-40 quid per night between you)
youth hostels if a bit more strapped
or snuggle up together in a sleeping bag in the car if fuel is going to break the bank already!

just resigned myself to putting it all on my credit card, saying "fck it" and worrying about it later lol
gonna check late rooms out
i'm more worried that my 5th gear wont hold out the entire trip - fingers crossed

home for the night as a stop off, just come back from carlisle
tommorow morning driving to bournemouth
254 miles so far on about £27 of petrol - cruised at a steady 75 (some bits at 80 and some bits at 70)
got hotels booked, lol full sea views in bournemouth and falmouth for like 45 quid a night
now just another 800 or so miles to drive
crap.

lol doh!
well i did 1100 miles isg this week - 380 of them yesturday
the car made it. though it did fall out of 5th gear on its own 3 times...
never before have i filled up twice on one day, like 2 full tanks in a day and this week i've done it twice....
i'll post my mpg when i work it out
one thing i can say, my economy at 75 is no better than at 90...

no?
should be about 1/3rd better (or is it 1/4, when you work it out in that direction?)
but then that's not accounting for your gearbox and engine i suppose!
(was it 90 / 75 ALL the way?)
filling up twice in one day is funnnnnn

NOT
especially if you use Tesco Pay at Pump.
So far as i can tell, you can't use any one card more than twice in 48 hours.
Damn near stranded me the one time, that BS did.
